Anyone else think the Saints and Payton have been saving their best football for this week

It just feels like Sunday we will see the offense of midseason. Like he's been saving his best for now

Why would they be saving anything? It's the playoffs. You bring everything you've got or go home.

Well, to be honest we didn't necessarily bring EVERYTHING yesterday. We started slow out of the gates, but then were dominate on defense

No. But I do think Payton will have his best gameplan yet.

He said earlier today the Rams are a team he watches every week. I’m sure the same goes for McVay

I think we were a little rusty on both sides to start since many of the starters hadn’t played in 3 weeks.

We were dominant after that once we woke up. I expect that version (and better) is what we’ll see moving forward

The Eagles were around the 25 going in for the possible game winning TD with less than 2 minutes left in the game yesterday.

If Payton was saving anything yesterday, that would be borderline incompetence and subject to being fired, so that's gonna be a no for me, dawg.

Don't know about saving something, but I think the offense will be much smoother now that they knocked the rust off

Of course he does, he has a folder for plays labeled “NFC Championship only” a “Super Bowl only” etc.

Some of his best plays have ended up in the “AFC Championship only” folder which is a damn shame imo

Being that he gameplans for each team, I’m sure some things haven’t been shown/used that will be on Sunday.

However holding the team back as in to hide something until the NFC championship game? You do realize they were down 14-0 at home yesterday??

No. I think massive injuries along the o-line have reduced our playbook, especially in the screen game. Those plays are only coming back after gaining health and confidence, whenever that is.

It wasn't because they were saving it.

What's this screen game you speak of?

I only noticed one RB screen yesterday and the Eagles blew it up immediately. Not sure our chances are going to fare any better against the Rams.

Louisiana people love the idea of secret playbooks

It's tough to run a screen against a team that plays a lot of zone.

True, but that play was dead from the jump because of the instant pressure from Cox (might have been Bennett).
