I think the contention is that most people believe Dalton has peaked and is now regressing while Jameis hasn’t reached his prime yet, thus still could improve his game. Throw in that Jameis has already thrown for more TDs and far more yards in a single season, it seems Jameis has a much higher ceiling. With that said, Dalton is far less turnover prone, and has a better win percentage when he’s gotten protection. It’s a classic example of low risk/low reward vs high risk/high reward.

I think it’s fair to say it’s a wash in terms of who’s “better”. I’d love either one as a backup, but give me Winston.
Daltons been on some pretty good teams, and had a few shots to elevate them in the playoffs and never really got there. Dalton feels like a lesser Tony Romo to me. He’ll guide the ship of a talented team, but he’s not taking you where you want to go. Not sure how anyone could ever say Andy Dalton has the “It” factor lol

So much more upside with winston. Not even a question. I wouldn't even let dalton take qb snaps from taysom.

no. Winston cheap here for 1 year. Hill is the true backup. Dalton will demand more money.

Cowgirls signed him?

Damn

Means " extra" bonus Cowboys coverage talk all week on the NFL shows and radio.

Some of those talking heads will have a field day slobbering all over their jocks. talking about "Qb controversy " blah blah blah

Dalton - 3 time Pro Bowl - 31K yds - 204 TD - 118 INT - 70-61-2 - 33 years old - $7M
Winston - 1 Pro Bowl - 19K yds - 121 TD - 88 INT - 28-42-0 - 26 years old - $1.1M

As the #2 if Drew goes Dow, which one would you want on the field?

As a prospect, with a lot of talent, no doubt what the choice would be.

As it stands, Hill is the backup, Winston the project& maybe an occasional gadget play with Stevens in the gadget role. We are the only team in the league with a GB position, much less draft one:-)
