The number of young QBs in the playoffs this year is astounding. Watching these guys play, I keep wondering why Andy Dalton, who has been in the league for decades, it seems, can’t do what rookies can do.

Let’s just draft a 6th round QB next year and roll into the playoffs. Everyone else is doing it.

Did Andy Dalton have Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffery, George Kittle, and a great O-Line on his offense? I am no Dalton apologist, but this is apples & oranges.

Dalton was a pro bowler and playoff qb already, he’s old and his team sucks that’s why he don’t look better

And Aiyuk. And Elijah Mitchell. And Shanahan.

Wait, I thought the Bengals were an automatic out and helped Tomlin look good even though he sucks? (Making fun of a different thread.)

sarcastic posts are usually caught-on better when you're replying to someone who was actually involved in discussion you're referencing.

I laugh at the idiots that post threads like this. Shows they really know nothing about football. Dalton was a top 10 qb as per his rating this year. His pocket awareness is horrible and he takes too many sacks. But he never got to throw to MT one game this year and played most of the year with two rookie receivers being his top targets. Name one other qb that did that this year. Not to mention the oline injuries. Putting up a qbr that high with those issues is rather impressive.

As far as career, think he’s very close to being top 25 all time in touchdowns. You don’t put up numbers like that being a crappy qb.

Only one of which can defeat press coverage and it's not the rookie WR that we traded up for and took in the 1st round.

No matter who the QB is, he has to have the OL block for him.

This is ridiculous

Dalton isn’t a top tier guy, but he’s better than any QB you could draft outside of the first round unless you get very lucky.

If you put any QB on that SF team they would do well. The team is stacked

It also helps to have a competent offensive staff, and Shanahan is a great coach. Deebo, CMAc, and Kittle definitely help too. Nonetheless I do wish the Saints would find a QB like Purdy in the draft.
