Could he possibly become elite a FEW years from now? Who knows. Will he be elite next year? I doubt it. I will say this, he has slightly improved every game and is being put up against elite NFL WRs.

Meh, he had a bad first game. Since then he has made some key pass break ups and lost a few key one's, pretty much what you'd expect from a rookie CB. That PI was definitely a penalty but I mean it wasn't just blatant. He has quietly made some good plays under big moments. And the plays he gave up in big moments he still had good coverage. For a rookie, I don't know how anyone can expect much more of him. Especially last 2 games, keep in mind, no pass rush.

He was all over Julio Jones last night. Julio fricking Jones. I don't care about the PI call. He was covering Julio Jones and won the matchup.

Crawley was targeted 9 times and gave up 3 catches for 34 yes. So he played pretty well.

He was trash talking JJ also, love that from a CB. CB has to have a don't give a frick attitude. Crawley has improved from first game. Granted, there was nowhere to go but up, but we've had other CBs over the years that never could improve from even rock bottom, not the case here.

I don't think he'll be elite but I do have high hopes for him. He seems to be in the right position to make plays most of the time. You seldom see his man have a lot of separation which is what we've had for a long time here. He just needs to turn that head around quicker.

I expect QBs to pick on the rookie free agent all year. It's gonna be rough for him for a while.

For an UDFA he doesn't look as lost as I would've thought. His ball skills need a lot of work but he doesn't seem to just get torched. He'll keep improving.

I actually didn't mind our young corners last night. Yes, they made a bunch of mistakes, missed tackles, blown assignments, but these guys are making the mistakes you'd expect rookie corners to make.

Most teams don't have to run with this many rookies at CB and cover a good receiving corps. Just too easy to get exposed. One play that stuck out to me was that pass breakup when Ryan escaped the pocket and rolled left. That's one of the most difficult things to prevent when a QB is running and he has a target on the near sideline. I was impressed they didn't mess that play up.

Really our liability is at OLB and safety.

Elite? I don't know about that. He definitely played a good game last night though.

Julio also was playing with a bad ankle and a pulled calf.

let's not act like he was 100% healthy and Crawley just shut him down.

and yes that PI was fricking obvious.

He hasn't played a down in his career without playing on a "bad ankle" or "bad calf" They say this every week about him.

He never seems burnt....he doesn't make the play all that often.

He's in position to make the play though which is a good sign. Cut back on the PI and swat the ball down instead of go for Int and he could be good.

Any day after a loss is like this. The day after a loss where we realize how bad this team is makes it even harder. I don't think most people had an issue with what you said, it's how you said it. You basically invited people to flame you. Also, every post you make you are essentially doing it in an agitating way. If you want people to take what you say seriously, change your methods.

I didn't know being positive about the Saints was that agitating to people in a Saints forum but I will take your constructive criticism into serious consideration. But I totally disagree with what you said. They were not upset with how I said it they were disagreeing with WHAT I said and that is obvious if you read the first 8 posts.

6 of the first 8 posts were people flaming you, as you requested in your original post. If you walk out in the rain without an umbrella don't bitch about getting wet. The last 2 was a Moo State fan (lol, and that's coming from a former MSU football player) and the other was someone jokingly saying he is better in coverage than Jason David, which is very much a fact.
