This is an awful take lol. You think a team was trading for Brees if we didn't want him? We had teams built to win and three years in a row got hosed.

Unpopular opinion, but I can see an extension at the end of the season. There is an opt out after the year, but that would cause the Saints to eat $16M against the cap. MT and another player have similar situations and as much as we joke that the cap is Monopoly money, you still can’t have too many people eating a huge chunk of cap and not on the team

The Bills and Niners were going all in for a Super Bowl. Obviously the Niners went for CMAC. Alvin obviously wasn’t getting suspended for the rest of that season. Hence, he had his highest value at that time. That window is closed now.

This was also the argument against trading CJG in the offseason. A team like the Bills had 2 injured safeties at the trade deadline. We could’ve likely gotten a 2nd or 3rd for CJG instead of a 6th.

We have mismanaged assets and mistimed trades. It’s part of the reason why this organization has become really frustrating. It is what it is.

Alvin has arguably been washed for 2 seasons.

It seems that way but stats show they’ve abandoned the correct way to use him since drew retired.

Neither Jamies nor Dalton used him as an effective check down. Jamies would try to thread the needle or throw it away, Dalton would never get to the read he’d just get sacked.

Would love to see him in a capable offense again. We’ll see if that’s possible here this year

Strangest part about this is check downs to AK should have been Dalton’s strength.
Winston & AK never had a chance to work well together bc it’s the area of Winston’s game that he never could get good at (he basically admitted to it this too)

I think it’s a lot more likely that DA doesn’t know how to use him than Kamara is washed up… you don’t just go from being one of the most dangerous backs in the league to a guy with more fumbles than touchdowns in one offseason

Now that we have RBs, slot AK out or throw it to him out of backfield. He never has been an every down back.

Kamara is probably going to eat this season as a receiver when he plays because Carr is Captain Checkdown and has been among the league leaders in check downs going back a few seasons at this point.

The coaching staff misused Kamara last year. They kept running him up the middle and didn’t try to get him the ball in space, on the edge or in the passing game. I don’t know if that changes this year or not.

Why do people keep saying he will be suspended 6 to 8 games? I think they suspend him 6 at most and he appeals and they bump it down to 4. It could be as low as 2 to 3 games IMO.

As for the future, I think Kamara and Williams get the majority of the carries this year and hopefully Kamara is used correctly. I think Miller is brought along slowly. Get him better at blocking and used to the speed of the game. Then in two years Miller is the bell cow while Kamara is more of a change of pace/specialty guy.

but your minimizing what this was shows just how callous you are. there are fights and then there are absolute beat downs. a gang of thugs pummeling a dude on the ground ain't no fight, homeboy.

Allen has nothing to do with how Kamara is used Let’s get real. Carmichael is still here

You can refer to Kamara’s splits with Brees vs Taysom/Teddy/Semien/Winston when Sean Payton was still here.

QB has to want to check to AK. They have to recognize when the defense can be exploited. It also helps to have other offensive weapons healthy

But the question that will need to be decided is how severe do the punish AK because of his name? He landed a couple of punches, but once the guy is in the ground AK is pulled away and his business manager and another guy continue the beating. Does the court system try to punish him as severely as the guys beating in a defenseless man because of who he is, or do the separate the crimes and punish him accordingly for the 2-3 punches?

Obviously I don’t know the answer to this, but I think it will go a long way to determining the length of his suspension and probably one of the reasons his defense team has been trying to push the court date back over and over

Kamara would have to have an offensive player of the year type season to justify paying him what his cap hit will be next year.
