I think some of the issue was his attitude, but I also think a lot had to do with the national perception that he is soft. No man wants to be known as soft. I am sure he felt he had to prove himself, at least in his own locker room.

I think your story is very believable. Graham sealed his fate with the Saints when he decided he didn't have to follow the rules on the field; there's absolutely no reason to think that attitude didn't carry into the locker room.

This is the exact moment when Payton knew Graham would be wearing a different uniform:

quote:

But after he dunked the football over the crossbar of the goal post for a second time Friday night, Graham may have fueled a conflict with his head coach.

Graham and Saints coach Sean Payton appeared to engage in some tense verbal sparring on the sideline after Graham was flagged for a second 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty in the second quarter of the Saints' 31-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Friday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Graham was not in the locker room for post-game interviews.

When Payton was asked whether he was upset about Graham's penalties, he replied, "Yes, I was. I'm very upset. Would you be upset? I was, particularly."

On if he had any thoughts that the Saints might be interested in trading him: “No, not at all really. I would say about a month ago, maybe not even a month ago, I was in the city and saw Mickey (Loomis) and was talking about next season with Mickey. Even when the season ended, just talking with the coaches, talking about what we’re going to do, what we’re going to work on, so it was definitely out of left field.” link

Why would they do this if they planned on trading him? They wanted Max more than they wanted Jimmy. Simple as that. Maybe he was a prick sometimes but so is a lot of the players in that locker room.

Like Junior, before he signed that contract everyone knew he was an idiot and Keenan Lewis just showed his arse in a silly bitch fit and they still want him.

Also a lot of his teammates had good things to say about him. Not buying it.

I just found a blogged article that references a recent Chris Mortensen Insider's report (I looked for but can't find a link to the source video):

LINK

quote:

Mortensen stated that there were reports that Jimmy was a locker room disruption, and that he wasn’t too happy about receiving the money as a TE, instead of the money he would have gotten had he gotten his wish and been designated as a WR before last season when he tried to argue against being designated a TE in contract negotiations.

quote:

Then came the real bit of a shocker that for me personally, is another reason to consider why Graham got traded.

Mortensen reported that it had been said that Graham “didn’t like to get hit or ‘touched’ in practice.

Again, no real evidence here, just additional smoke, this time, not just from some Saints Talk posters in this thread, but apparently from an ESPN reporter as well (who has at times been accurate with inside info.)

There were interesting comments coming from Brees and Streif all season but people didn't pay attention because they were so focused on the disappointment on the field.

There's no doubt the team would trade Galette...if they could.

quote:

The New Orleans Saints have been quietly exploring a trade of edge rusher Junior Galette but have found no takers

March 6th, 2015

Much like Galette, Lewis is not tradeable at this time due to his contract.

quote:

However, the move would not make financial sense, as the Saints would still be responsible for $6.9 million dead money due to his signing bonus. Lewis is making only $1.8 million in base salary for 2015.

March 13th, 2015

Plus, Lewis realized he overstepped his boundaries with his girlish SM bullshite and broke his neck trying to plug the holes in the dam.

I'm not sure Galette and Lewis are 100% safe. Let the right deal come along and they may given their walking papers as well.

We don't need evidence of him not wanting to be hit or touched in practice. Just watch the games. He alligator arms all the time and ALWAYS turns his head too early when he feels a hit coming which is why he had a problem with drops. It's on tape for everyone to see.

He also gets up and gets confrontational every time he takes a hard hit. Hey Jimmy it's part of the game. Can't get mad at the other guy for doing his job unless he is doing it dirty.

He loved hitting other guys but couldn't get what he gave.

I loved Jimmy. Dude was a beast especially when healthy. Down right dominant. But there's no denying he acted like a diva and was becoming injury prone. A legit nfl guy(forgot his name but I think I posted the link in another thread) said he heard from people in the Saints that they were worried he wouldn't finish out his contract because his body was breaking down.

Yeah I know it was reported we were trying to trade a receiver (Stills) for Unger first, but it's clear we were ready to move on from Stills and Graham.

It's crazy how the locker room fell apart right before our eyes. Payton/Loomis lost their way. They overlooked character and paid talent and it bit them in the arse.

No denying Graham and Jr. can play. But with big money and no leaders like Harper/Jenkins/Smith/Vilma to law down the lay, the team went to shite.

I said this about halfway thru last season. We obviously wouldn't miss those 4 production (of lack of it) on the field b/c Vilma and Smith were never playing again and Jenkins are Harper had been mediocre. But it was painfully clear their leadership missing killed the defense, especially

If this is all true, and its been substantiated by several posters, then Seattle is the perfect landing spot for him.

Maybe it was a strategic negotiating move. Loomis knew Seattle wanted graham by Seattle offering up harvin for him last offseason. They may have used stills for unger as bait for Seattle to say "we really want graham". Then the leverage swings in favor of the saints.

The saints wouldn't have had much leverage by bringing up Graham initially.

Allegedly? Did you watch the games? He did this shite on the sidelines every game. Yelling in Payton's face, yelling at Brees, being an arse in general, the stupid fricking flexing thing every time he caught a pass, dunking the ball over the goal twice after he knew it would penalize the team. No doubt he did the same in practice and the locker room.

This isn't groundbreaking news. The team looked discombobulated last season. Too much bullshite going on off the field.

Like he did in 2006, Payton is cleaning house of the loud mouth fricktards and getting back to business.

There's a difference between being a prick sometimes and having no respect for your coach, your captain, and your teammates.

Dude was locker room cancer and he landed in a team full of thug pieces of shite. He did right in until he realized they are actual thugs who are physical as all hell.

I'll bet he's crying like a baby back bitch by week 4,and he's "injured" by week 8.
