Sure would be sweet if we had a time machine where we could go back and hand pick some guys to fix our defence. Would be a hell of a site to see that dome patrol playing with Drew and boys.

Shanle has to be on the team. Like Brees, he makes everyone look good.

In all fairness, there wasn't much offense on the Saints prior to 2000, so naturally this roster would be heavily loaded with players from the past decade.

Just take a look at a Saints media guide. Not many offensive records held by anyone from pre-2000s.

Of course, if you want to impress everyone with your knowledge of the names of the Saints offensive juggernauts of the 70s and 80s, please do so.

You know we never have any real good corners when someone puts Mike Mckenzie as a All Time Saints first string team.

Who were our corners for the late 80's, early 90's on all of those stellar defenses? Waymer was a safety, right?

I think Frank Warren should get some consideration at DT. He played 13 seasons for the Saints and had 52 sacks for his career. One of my favorite players of all time

I'll never forget his fumble return for a TD he had against the Oilers. Sam Mills nailed Warren Moon on a blitz and he fumbled, the ball took a good hop right into Frank's hands and he ran 50 yards or so for the TD

No way I'd put Joe Horn over Eric Martin either. I could see people putting Horn over Colston but if Colston stays here and passes Martin on the all-time receiving list, I'd say it should be Eric Martin & Marcques Colston.

I agree. Right now, It's Martin then Horn. If Colston sticks around, he'll be the top WR in franchise history without a doubt.

Eric Martin is the #1 WR. I also found Quinn Early underrated.

Guys like Jimmy Graham and Carl Nicks are easily upgrades over their respective picks. As well as Carl Nicks IMO and Colston IMO. I refuse to put Will Smith in there.

I think it's just too early to put them on the list. In two to three years, absolutely. I'm sure we all would have said the same thing about Cam Cameron after his first year.

I have to be honest...He probably is our second best DE behind Joe Johnson. His numbers are solid through his career.

Cam Cleeland? Please do not put that name in the same though of Jimmy G Class himself. TIA

ETA: La Roi Glover doesn't leave my list. Other guys may have some tenure on him but nothing else.

TE- Henry Childs
OT- Willie Roaf
G- Jahri Evans
C- Steve Korte
G- Carl Nicks
OT- Stan Brock

Defense
DE- Joe Johnson
DT- La Roi Glover
DT- Derland Moore
DE- Wayne Martin
OLB- Rickey Jackson

I don't have Graham on there yet because one year isn't enough.

Tommy Myers was a SS, but he's the second best safety to wear a Saints uniform for an extended period. Gene Atkins is third.

Agree with you there.

Cam started 16 games his first season, was our leading receiver, had 54 catches for 684 yards and 6 touchdowns catching passes from the Billy Joe's, Danny Wuerffel and Kerry Collins. We all thought he was going to be really really good.
