The talking heads will not grade this as a very good draft imo, but the same dummies did not have a clue it would produce two Rookie of the Year players.

Guess I was expecting more at #1 - if we are all in to win it this year, thought a more guaranteed starter would be selected if we were were trading up. Next year’s 1st round is a big price to pay for a player that needs development. Great long term pick.

At 3, while we needed WR depth, just not sure here; good speed, but doubt he beats out Ginn on the outside. Think I would have preferred a TE here.

At 4, I will take a FlSt or AL OL anytime; need the depth with Armsteads injury history.

At 5, the Wisconsin S was a surprise. Played a few positions under Aranda, so well coached. A good depth DB that can play special teams.

At 6, Surprised to see another DB in this round. Thinking this is a reach with his injury history.

The Tech RB is a special teams guy that adds depth in the backfield.

And the final round may be, long term, the best value pick in the draft. A solid OL that can understudy the best C in the league for a few years till it is his time while providing depth at G& C.

The NFL parity system makes the draft a chess game for the successful teams. The “heads” will give the great grades to the teams the guys at the top, not recognizing the task for the teams at the bottom.

All in all, pretty good job at 27.

Nobody at 27 was exciting.
Our first 3 picks could contribute this year.
Davenport will contribute in a big way.
All three could be homerun picks

I like our top 2 picks. The fact that they filled two major needs is huge.

If those guys live up to their draft position we will be a significantly better team this year.

If Okafor comes back and still plays at a high level, Davenport is a really good pick. Can put him in on obvious passing downs until he can seize the starting spot.

Man, I wish we still had Fairley. We could have a top 5 defensive line.

Would've liked a TE and LB, but if the value wasn't there.....

We did very well overall.

Sucks not to have a 1st next year. I guess our player acquisition splash next year will be in free agency or trade.

Still could use a veteran OL and secondary player. I would not be opposed to bringing Breaux or Vicarro back.

I thought it sucked. Gave up a 1 next year for a project, drafted Smith when we did not have to. Leonard is a fricking project. Overall its a C-

Uhh, you do realize we effectively got 4 first round talents last year right? Why is everyone so concerned with a 2019 first? The pick is likely going to be a very late 1st anyway. Eventually we will have to pay all these stars we got in 2017. We are playing to win NOW, and a 2019 rookie isn’t going to win us a championship with Brees.

I love Davenport and I’m all in, but if we’d drafted Harold Landry at 27 I’d be just as thrilled. I think most of this board would agree, if they’re being honest.

Will be really interesting how Okafor looks during training camp and preseason. I don't think the Saints see Davenport as just a pass rusher, he is someone that should, at least hopefully, be a really good run stopper also.

Geez, Okafor, MD, Hendrickson can play run well from DE and also slide in and rush the passer from 3-tech, Kikaha, will be interesting to see his recovery from 2016 injury, and George Johnson who came in and played better than expected 2nd half of season when our top 3 DEs on the right side got hurt. Haven't even gotten to the Muslim dude who is still developing. Sorry, I don't feel like looking up his name or trying to spell it.

player vs. player, no, i'd rather Davenport... but factor in that 1st round pick next year, and yeah, i'd be OK with Landry instead...

now, Davenport has the potential to be a great player, where Landry has a bit more of a ceiling, but still...

Yeah, not the most popular in north La though.

Anyways, he seemed to progress a little during the season. H e looked good in preseason, against scrubs but hell, you are suppose to dominate scrubs. He sat most of the year but got the call later after all the injuries. Hopefully he takes another step forward in his 2nd year.

He's supposed to be an excellent run stopper. If Okafor can't play right away...I wouldn't be surprised if Davenport starts. I wouldn't expect a ton of sacks from Davenport in his rookie year, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was was good against the run.

We got fleeced by GB and they turned around and used a 3 and 6 togo from our 27 to 18. I mostly like our pick at 1 but not the price we paid.
