I'm fine by this but only if they plan to basically make them dead men walking and also to trade anyone on the roster with value right now for future picks. If they plan to full rebuild, it makes sense because it will take a few years to get out of cap hell. Basically, handcuff Allen and make him a figurehead for the retard he is anyway.

But this is the Saints who are historically one of the worst franchises in NFL so they're not doing this because it makes too much sense.

I belong to the school of thought that maintains that the Payton-Brees Era of this franchise just fell out of the sky and into the building. It was pure luck.

The people involved in this Era, including Payton himself, had no talent for making this Era a permanent part of the fabric of this franchise.

Now that this Era is over, IMHO, the franchise will revert to its Pre-2006 form, and await another miracle to fall from the sky.
