First it too early to know where anyone these players will fall out in the draft but based on their combine workouts and final grades I'd like to see these guys in the Black and Gold.

TE - Luke Musgrave - Oregon St.

DE - Derick Hall - Auburn

RB - Tyjea Spears - Tulane

S - Ji'Ayir Brown - Penn St.

WR - "Tank" Dell - Houston

DL - Jaquelin Roy - LSU

IOL - Ricky Stromberg - Arkansas

QB - Clayton Tune - Houston

no, saints should be looking seriously at o-line help above all else

defense isnt perfect but it will be just fine even if they get no help at all there

offensive line, on the other hand, needs serious desperate help

Don't get excited bc we won't be able to sign any of our picks bc we are in cap hell every year according to the experts on this board

first two picks need to be best player available at a position of need --which are many - then draft to fill remaining holes

OL and DL should be 2 of our top picks. I’d love to get Washington the TE from UGA

When we were Super Bowl caliber make no mistake it had a lot to do with sound offensive line - the entire OL - not a couple of choice guys but the unit.
Build that and good skill players become great.

I don't think the Saints has but a couple DL signed for next year. Unless we go through free agency for all of them, you can believe we will get at least 1 DL from the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if we go with another one late.

DL, WR, RB, IOL, QB if they see someone young in the later rounds they like (at least they have a history of doing this), and EDGE. Those are the ones I anticipate. I could see us getting a rookie TE, but if they make enough room with the cap, they might go with a veteran TE if there is someone they like.

Can it really be both though? Seems like you pick the BaP or fill a need, obviously if you're filling a need then you're going to take a player you feel is the best option at that spot but he might not be the best available player on the board.

Roy could be a steal in 4th round! Hope he is still there.

You forgot about d line. They have plenty of work to do there in the draft and free agency.

They need another safety in the draft.

I'm interested in whether the hype for smoke Monday last camp was real or not

no i didnt, i never said defense didnt need help, just that other areas need help first before you try to improve the defense. the defense is far down the list of the most pressing needs right now.

we wont score points without getting significant help on the o-line, and if you dont score, it matters not if your defense plays lights out by not allowing a single score, because you still cant win when you are scoring zero points, even if you have the #1 dense in the NFL

I think our Oline is in much better shape then the Dline. Can they improve on Oline, sure but it's not a bigger need the Dline IMO.

The Saints defense was 2nd in the league in yds/gm through the air at 184.4yds/gm, Phily was tops at 179.4yds/gm. That's not bad.

However they were 24th in the league in yds/gm on the ground, giving up 130.5 yds/gm. That's not good.

The biggest problem as far as scoring last season was that the Saints offense turned the ball over 25 times to only 14 takeaways. Again 2nd worst in the league.

well we agree to disagree on that, i guess we see things differently

i see this defense as top 15 with no new players added this year, and that is all we need to reach the SB as has been repeatedly proven in the NFL year after year

PS - and no im not saying we are going to the SB this year, only that it can be done with an average defense

I'm hopeful but I'm not holding my breath. With as bad as the safeties played last year he never saw the field.

yes it was, and that was mainly because the o-line was a turnstile, letting guys run free in our backfield chasing sacking QB, and disrupting things on every play.

With what DL?

Are you assuming we're re-signing Onyamata and Davenport?

Jaquelin is the perfect A-Aron name.

And would be a great fit for NO.

Is it wierd that everytime I see your posts I think of Stanley Jean-Baptiste and I get a little angry.
