And how many people on this board approved of 1) this trade of Cooks to NE when it first went down. Everybody either wanted NE' s earlier first round pick or wanted Butler involved in the trade or 2) or were happy with the pick of Ram.
I'd say no one!!!

Ain't easy to just plug and play a lineman and expect them to be top 10 at their respective position in the first second.

Never said it was easy but it has literally been the best drafted position of the Sean Payton era

Rookls & Tiller were super late picks

Several of us were happy with Ram.

Everyone else was freaking out over us not have taken that DE from Tennessee with the Lattinore pick or Foster.

Plenty of us weren’t on board giving the farm for Butler either. I can link those as well

Save almost enough money to pay for a pro bowl punter.

one who prevented a touchdown return and broke his ribs doing it. Wonder what Chad thinks about that play.

I was very happy with this pick and it started to change my opinion on the trade.

I was pretty upset with what we got but it all depended on who we drafted and Oline was a huge need and I felt Ram was the best Olineman (Bolles (sp?) being dumb as rocks and all).

for a healthy thomas morestead punting his first punt in an important divisional round playoff game on the road in a dome, when it came off his foot, i knew it was a shitty punt and sure enough the return portrayed that. but kudos to mr morestead for a tackle. it might be the first tackle by a punter since columbus sailed the oceans.

Saints have drafted extremely well at OLine in the Payton era, but this is the exception to the rule. Most teams haven't drafted one pro bowl lineman in those rounds ever, we just happened to find and develop 5 Pro Bowl level guys.

We take for granted how well we have reloaded our OLine, but it has been a priority throughout Drew's career in NOLA to staff that line well, and Drew/SP have made those guys look better to a certain degree as well. This production from mid-round guys is not seen many places across the league consistently

also one of those better safe than sorry, we kind of need the security instead of risking it on a late round guy.

they've had misses and when they have, it bit them in the arse. (i.e. having to trade for unger)

I dont disagree. But we are specifically talking about the Saints here, so my point stands.
