Nola no call aside, the Rams should have been run out the building.

I just remember the noise have Goff shook for several offensive series. The noise was deafening.

frick you Dan Arnold for dropping that TD pass. That completely changed the momentum.

I love when people read a post in another thread and then turn around and create a thread that says exactly what the post they read said.

Payton’s post Super Bowl teams always came out flat in the playoffs and either limped along and lost or just outright choked.

King of regular season wins and nothing to show for it

It’s a pretty common thought for literally any Saints fan that watched that game

Also our dumbass coaching staff not ready for a fake punt when everyone else knew it was coming.

Teh offensive play calling down the stretch was awful. That game should have never come down to the refs.

Didnt that no chest Kicker Lutz miss a chip shot FG? I think it was a 29 yarder or something like that

Noodle Arm threw a pass at MT13's feet on a Slant Screen and inside the 10 yard line. If accurate, he would have walked in.

This right here!

Just play 'safe' and the Saints get the ball again while still having all the momentum. That play got the ball rolling for the Rams.

Us settling for field goals after the Rams were basically giving us the game early completely changed the dynamic. They were clearly rattled by the crowd.

If We go up 14-0 or even 10-0 instead of 6-0, I think we absolutely skullfrick them. But we didn’t and they adjusted to the crowd and they simply outcoached us down the stretch. Payton thought since Peat and Warford handled Donald and Suh earlier in the season the would do the same. We never adjusted to that. But we usually used Zach Line as RB as an extra blocker in the middle on passing downs and he got hurt so that was out. But that’s where a big part of our struggles came offensively. Suh and Donald dominated our entire OL

I had a room with a balcony on bourbon ready to party after that game. Bourbon was completely dead that night.

You just made my point. They were up 13-0. Now imagine if it was 17-0 or 21-0. That’s a lot harder to come back from psychologically, especially on the road in an insane environment.

13-0 is hardly insurmountable. Going up 17 or 21 is A LOT different

When Demario picked that ball off, I thought we were about to boat race those losers. I get it, we had several opportunities to put that game away early (thanks Dan Arnold), but after all of that, the Saints never once trailed in the game until the last FG. And if the PI call was made, nothing after that happens. So the hypotheticals in overtime don't even matter.

Man frick that game so much.

I yelled at my TV, "watch for the fake" because it was so fricking transparent in my mind. It was the only thing the Rams could do to get in the game at that point, mix in a young coach who like Payton years earlier made a ballsy playcall, and you had what I thought was a sure fake. What's embarrassing is that Payton didn't see it coming.

The rest of this thread has plenty other good reasons the Saints lost as well, dumb frick Arnold sticks out the most after the fake to me. Brees and Lutz right behind that.

The no-call is the worse no-call in NFL history, BUT it should never have come down to that. And I wanted those refs to DIAF, I still do. Payton did his annual choke job on coaching at the wrong time and there were obvioulsy key player mistakes. That game should've been a boat race as OP implied. My desire to watch the NFL or GAF about the Saints nosedived and hasn't returned. frick the NFL. But when you think about it, frick SP as well.
