Put two small dents in my new refrigerator during 1st half when it was snowballing on us. Last time I ever lost my cool while watching sports and was alone at the time Fortunately

Man by the end of this game, I was so emotionally drained... And then finding out that if we had won we would have played the Giants in the dome for the NFC championship... We slaughtered them in the regular season that year.

yep, I don't understand why he sent 8 on the long play to Veron Davis. At max like that you send 6. 3G was over-aggressive and i will never forgive him for it. frick that guy.

I didn't even look at the box score for that game until almost a year later.

I finally watched the NFL replay of it this past season.

Most depressing game I watched because it capped the worst sports week (1/9 then this game) an LSU and Saints fan ever had.

Stopped watching or reading about sports for almost two months after that week. Ugh.
This.

I watched in New Orleans and was living in Baton Rouge at the time. Drove to the wife's (girlfriend at the time) house in Baton Rouge and plopped down on the couch. She fixed me a bourbon and I told her to leave the bottle. She eventually went to bed. I didn't move off that couch, didn't open the blinds all night and through the next day and night--only getting up from the couch to use the bathroom during that time. Finished off the bottle of bourbon and went through a bottle of scotch. I didn't answer my phone or texts. Ppl were worried. Showed up at work the 3rd day at 10:30, with a 3-day beard, still no shower and probably appeared to be a hobo who borrowed a nice suit.

In summation frick this game, frick the NFL Network for showing it, and frick you for reminding me.

yeah a part of my soul died that week and still hasn't returned.

The only solace I found in that game was at least they didn't get their fecal matter pushed in by a rival on national television in their own backyard...that and weed...i smoked alot of weed that day.

The go-ahead Graham TD was so incredible. Little did I know that feeling would be matched shortly thereafter, but opposite.

It was the most heartbreaking loss I've ever experienced. Just such a roller coaster. After so many turnovers, they clawed their way back and they were going to pull off the impossible. Then everything was taken away. It was the most incredible game I've ever watched, but it sucks so much that the Saints had to be on the losing end. I have no doubt that the Saints would've been back in the Super Bowl with a win there, what that would've done for the legacy of Payton and Drew.
