Why not both? Most elite passing offenses now have at least 3 good pass catchers
Funny because I was screaming from the roof tops we needed to draft Jefferson two years ago in draft threads and got downvoted and told receiver wasn’t a need lol. Everyone wanted queen or the OU backer.
Now Jefferson is all pro and y’all starting threads on which receiver we should draft in the first lol…..

1 Drake London
2 Garrett Wilson
3 Jameson Williams
4 Burks
5 David bell

I go:
Williams
Burks
Wilson
Wilson just scares me because he doesn't really have elite speed and he has just medium size. I think technically he is very sound but I feel like we already have that in MT. I want to see something elite physically (size or speed) from a WR opposite him.

What can you tell me about London? Didn't catch too much PACtion this year. I know he's big but thats about it.

You forgot Mahomes ?
It's like they expect Payton to do some sort of magical leap ahead of people who decide to pick the guy we had our eye on.
The Mahomes situation was a bit different being that KC leapfrogged a spot ahead of the Saints to get him because the Chiefs knew the Saints would take him if they didn't in front.

Thanks for the link. London's balance and body control are impressive. He reminds me of a bigger Steve Smith.

I think we should trade up if we have to for Jameson Williams. Dude is a gamer.

This receiver class is pretty stacked. I don’t really see a reason to trade up.

Considering Sean Payton’s 1st rd WR draft pick history (Robert Meachem), and seeing the average Saints fan IQ diminish lower since wishing Lequan Treadwell in the 1st when we landed MT in the 2nd… we need to trade any available draft capital, within reason for Russell Wilson.

You’re prob right. I was likely out of line with the trade up remark. Honestly , I know very little about the draft this year bc I watched prob the least college football in my life this past season. Starting to lose its appeal to me sadly. Between NIL, opting out of entire seasons, and the portal it’s became a shite product.

This definitely reminds me of the 2016 wr class
A lot of options, wouldn't shock me to go BPA with 1st and then trade up in the 2nd

1st will be an OT
2nd will be a Safety
3rd will be a WR
3rd will be a DT

Wilson is my WR1 but I don’t think he’s there at 18.
London is big (6’5” 215), not quite Mike Evans big but more of a finesse version of that. Great body control & route running for someone his size. Can get deep & wins contested catches. Strong hands, and he’s just so smooth. I think he could be the answer to the Saints outside WR woes
However I am becoming more inclined to
treat WRs like RBs in the draft. No to them in 1st.
Top 100 should be the sweet spot

He tore his acl in the championship game. No reason to trade up he is likely to be available at 18 for that reason if we want him.

Dude from Penn state is a player also. I think he is in the second tier, but he has proven to be a #1 for PSU.
Point is that this a deep wr draft this year.

This is what I love about London's game.
From PFF:
"The USC pass-catcher racked up 37 receptions against single coverage in the 2021 season, 14 more than any other Power Five receiver at the time of his injury. He also forced 22 missed tackles and totaled 19 contested catches, four more than any other FBS wide receiver in the regular season despite missing the final third of the year."

Sounds like you just described Michael Thomas.
