Zion’s interview from today may have been the death of him.

Every single major sports outlet has posted what he said from his interview all over social media and he’s getting ripped to absolute pieces from it (Rightfully so). Anyone else feel like today might be the nail in the coffin for his time in New Orleans?

Probably not and we’ll probably go through the same garbage next year. #Pelslife

He’s a piece of shite imo

I think that’s a bit harsh lol

He's just an immature kid who has been surrounded by "yes men" his entire sports career.

He’s essentially refusing to play while still getting paid millions. This is not ok.

Let's hope so. frick off Zion.

It's fricking wild that he's been so silent all this time and this is the first thing he decides to say.
I think he'd have to publicly demand a trade for New Orleans to get rid of him just because of the risk of them trading him for a pittance given his injury history and then him being under competent coaching and management and doing well.
More likely he just gets ready for next year, shows up out of shape, starts the season strong regardless, gets hurt early and runs the whole thing back again.

Imagine all of us working stiffs being off months because of an injury. Then the company doctor says you’re fine to go back to work and you say” Sorry I’m just not feeling like my old self, give me another month or two”. How do you think that would play out? This is complete BS

A lot depends on what happens the next few days/weeks. If they flame out in the Play In it’s going to be a hot summer for Griff and Zion. If his teammates get them to Denver and Zion starts feeling more himself he’ll have a shot at redemption.

He is still just a kid. Really immature and needs to learn what being a professional means. He is a baller but almost every great He has the potential to be on par with took the job side(conditioning, training, off-season, diet etc) more seriously. He needs to learn what that looks like.
I am absolutely disappointed with the way he has managed his career to this point but still believe he can turn it around. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt for one more season. We saw the work he did this offseason...fitness and some of these life changing decisions take some time to take especially nutrition.
I hope he is learning from this and isn't content with what he has been/will be paid by us and his small sample size of play
Zion should be a first ballot HOF player and as of today I don't think he is anywhere near that track. He does owe the fans an apology...but especially his teammates. JJ, CJ, BI, and many others believed in this kid and put their trust/careers hitched to his wagon and so far he has let them all down too.
The only silverlining so far has been BI realizing/performing like he could be a franchise player or the development of Trigger

I think this is hyperbole, but this really is one of the worst quotes I’ve ever heard from an athlete:
So maybe this really is the end. Guy may just need a change of scenery to ever move on professionally.
quote:
"I can pretty much do everything. It's just a matter of the level that I was playing at before my hamstring. I don't want to go out there and be in my own head and affect the team when I can just be on the sideline supporting them more."

Pretty soon y’all will be saying that dumb shite about 30 yr olds

I say kid because
When you are recruited by Coach K
A superstar college athlete
No.1 pick in the draft
The people you surround yourself with matters. He chose his family...not business minded or career oriented advisors
He has mom, step-dad, cousin boosie, uncle Bobo advising him based on their Years of service as PTA members, weekend BBQ gatherings etc
So yeah...he is an immature kid in terms of being a professional basketball player

No. He’s an immature man.

When you’ve signed a $200+ million dollar contract to play basketball, and you’ve been in the league for 4 years, you’re not a kid anymore.
