New Orleans Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson's family wants to add a third floor housing a theater to their Garden District mansion. But this week, the city's historic landmarks commission said not so fast.

An architect said the owner, Zion's mom, hoped the theater could be used for her son to “screen professionally what he does.”

I thought he lived all the way out in Kenner.

The real headline is that Zion and/or family is looking to make a major investment in New Orleans property.

He’ll be there forever. Case closed.

No the story is this kid came in here and, in massively good faith, bought a house in the garden district, unlike most pro athletes who come here; not knowing what a shithole orleans and its commissions are, and now he's probably like fk it....I should have moved to Mandeville, easier to get out when I sign elsewhere anyway. His team mates in Kenner are like what we're you thinking dawg? Whyd you listen to drew.

Of course, I haven't seen the drawings, but I do deal with HDLC alot, and they are a bunch of clowns, (eta to remove a lot of unnecessary hdlc tangent bitching )

HE does. I've seen him entering the subdivision in Kenner. Hart too. I think his family has always lived elsewhere, now we know where

But the city said no, so he's gone!

Forget Mandeville — should have bought a house in NOLA East.

Mandeville was definitely some hyperbole on my part, but back in the day, a bunch of the saints organization did live in Madisonville. Looks like he doesn't live in orleans parish anyway, smart young man.

And the city turned his reasonable request down, so that’s one more strike against us. I think it was leaked on purpose for the future.

Look, we tried to make an investment and stay here, but not only were the coaching, front office, teammates shite, medical staff overbearing, but also the city wouldn’t even let my son watch basketball film in his own home.

Then they want to leave and a landmarks commission turning them down the same way they'd do to Gayle Benson doesn't matter.

Laugh as much as you want, but why else would this be in the news?

Someone from the Landmarks Commission ran to the media to tell them?
