If the rumblings are true about Mitchell not resigning then they should definitely go after someone like BI

I would probably stand pat. For better or worse, I want to see Ingram/zion/cj in a playoff series together. So any deadline trade for me is nibbling at the edges.
I’d probably call Atlanta to see if Clint capela is available

I’m telling you they like and value Brandon more than we do
Especially considering you said they value BI more than 2 do, knowing Griff seems to like BI more than his own parents.
Is Sacramento going to make him their #1 option too?

Zion for Mikal Bridges … negotiate the ancillary pieces of the deal as desired .
You add more shooting , better defense , better rebounding , better effort , more games played and scoring is not sacrificed.
Buy all the way into LONG ball .
Probably still struggle to close but the play hard every night factor and consistent D gets you into the top 4 and a first round playoff win.

Bridges would be a far better fit alongside Zion than BI

Do you guys still value Mikal Bridges highly? Personally I feel hes been kind of disappointing this year.

I think he’s a terrific complementary piece .
You are not getting a “star” level player for any of our players and I think the things he does well would compliment the rest of the roster .
Big picture though , rather than moving pieces around to find some perfect fit for the lazy immature player , move the lazy immature player.
How many lazy , immature players have led their team to a championship contender ?

Bridges is the type of player that would be the perfect #2 to Zion.
He shoots the 3 at a high level, he defends at a high level, and he doesn’t care if he has the ball in his hands or not, which would allow us to run Point Zion all game

Don’t completely disagree. Problem is the whole league knows hes lazy and immature. So his trade value is basically garbage. Are we at the point where we’re just trading Zion just for the sake of trading him?

Yes, that disappointment is what happens when a guy that’s best suited as a #2 is running the offense and expected to be the best player on defense.
Put Bridges back as a #2/3 like he was in Phoenix and you will see him back to his old self.

Not necessarily. But would rather make the move too soon than too late .

These are some horrible takes seeing as how Zion is the only one that’s been consistently good since the IST

I’m not of the belief that point Zion is sustainable .
1. He doesn’t have the conditioning or stamina to do it .
2. Down the stretch of games it’s already been a struggle .
3. His skill set has not improved yet in his career.
Mikal is a good complimentary piece for any team .
Again , name a lazy , immature player with no leadership skills that has gotten a team to contender status .
Give me a group that knows how to play , can make things difficult for every opponent , and his made up of guys with huge give a crap factor and the team will be greater than the sum of its parts .

Yes I have stated myself hes played consistently well since the IST that doesn’t change the league’s likely perception of him. I was talking about the league’s perception of him, not my own.
Unfortunately the way he came out flat this season and his showing at the IST was detrimental in his image. Its going to take how he performs this season and especially in the playoffs to erase that image. Several solid games after the IST will not just magically erase that.

So you pick the most recent 10 game sample instead of 2019-2023 to make your assessment of Zion?

You mean the 4 years he was a two time all star despite missing an entire season with injury and another one cut short by Covid?
Or are we talking about him being the leading scorer in the paint over those 4 years??
Literally everything about Zion has been consistent, he goes off for a game here and there and he has very few games where teams are able to take him out, but for the most part he is as consistent as can be every single game.
We are also talking about the guy that lead us to being 1st in the west last season before a freak hammy injury, and once he went down we didn’t even make the playoffs.

I for one have applauded and defended Zion for his performance after the IST. Unfortunately his performance before/at IST, and his weight/injury issues really hurt his overall image for the league. Its going to take dominating performances for the rest of the season and in playoffs to change that. Frankly, this is Zions fault and no one else’s.

I guess I’ll ask how do you think the league views or values Zion in your opinion? Currently do you think his trade value is high?
