"you need to fricking suck it up, play well and stay healthy - we're gonna trade you to another team. But your value is absolutely arse and this benefits us both if you actually work."

I could make an argument that all 3 of those players in that trade are more valuable than Zion in a 1 for 1 deal, let alone a 3 for 1 and a pick on top.

Zion plays 40% of games, is a an immature malcontent that has tanked our franchise, has never played a playoff game, has never won a playoff game.

He’s almost got zero value. His only value is a mythical version of him that no longer exists. So we’d be absolutely lucky to get 3 hard working role players and a pick for him at this point.

2-3 years ago we could’ve likely traded him for Sengun or Maxey. Griff miscalculated and now it’s time to pay the piper. Get this dirtbag out of NOLA.

Not nearly enough value for Zion, would need multiple 1sts and swaps

serious question... what kind of value do you realistically think he has in other NBA front offices?

the ONLY reason he's valued so highly here is b/c we want to reap a plentiful return for him, but the REALITY is the rest of the NBA does not think as highly about Zion as fans here do...

you can sit here and think Zion is worth 1st rounders and player swaps, but the reality is, he's not worth that to other teams..... he's perpetually injured and doesn't take the game of basketball serious, AT ALL.... other GMs know this...

in the end, we are going to get pennies on the dollar to get rid of that fat frick and it realistically has set us back, at this point, as a franchise

The hopeful side is that he's on the Steph and Embiid trajectory-- chronically injured the first few years of their careers, then got healthy enough to play consistently and be dominant. The difference is, Z seems much more immature and less competitive and committed than those other two.

Right, even as immature as Embiid is today. That dude used to have serious grind and drive. Being 7ft 1 helped too.

Steph is also on a different planet character wise

Z is arguably one of the lowest character athletes in team sports history, so it’s never going to happen for him.

He’s in the Ben Simmons realm. Better player, but fatter. Basically the same human. They both suck.

Too bad we blew our wad on Murray and then started 0-40 this season, otherwise we could’ve gone for him

He suggested, Zion for Obi Toppin, Nesmith, Mathurin and a 2028 1st

Would do that in a heartbeat.

Bobby Marks released something on ESPN a few days ago about a few guys in the league and their trade value. He said Zion for expirings and a future 1st.

I vaguely recall Griff going hard after him when they were looking to trade him or Haliburton.

Think they wanted BI for him and Griff wouldn’t budge. Man that hurts now.

So, he is concerned about the situation in Sacramento and you think he would be happy in New Orleans? Come on, be realistic.

CJ and Theis to the Magic for M. Wagner, Gary Harris and Cole Anthony. The trade will give the Pels some cap relief, around $3.5M, and a capable big next season.

Orlando needs outside shooting and they are about $9M below the cap. It is a win for both teams and a bigger win for McCollum.

Should be noted that Wagner is out for the season.

CJ to ORL is a popular destination idea for him. Orlando is $9.7m over the cap, not below it. Wagner is also the brother of their young star Franz, so they may be careful trading Mo away like this. Cole Anthony also just exploded for 35 points to bring their team back in that Miami game, so they may not see CJ as much of an upgrade.

But, I hope you're right and some team takes CJ at the deadline.

Do you have a lick of reading comprehension? I said too bad we already blew our wad and we are 0-40.

Meaning, had we not blown our wad and we looked respectable this season, we could have been a trade destination for him.

Neither happened. As I already outlined.

I get you don’t like me for other reasons, but damn bro. We were on the same side on this one.

Speaking of Orlando, they beat Boston without their two best players.

They’ve beaten the Suns, Heat and Celtics and loss single digit games to Bucks and OKC, all without their 2 stars.

Bingo

People still think it's 2K and the players have zero say in where they want to go and it's all soooooo simple!

It doesn't work like that. If a dude is unhappy in 1 place, he sure as shite won't be happy in New Orleans right now. And the "I don't care if he's unhappy" is just not living in reality when discussing this topic.

Jimmy Butler demands a trade.

This is the trade we need to get in on and get BI to Miami in a 3 team deal, I don’t think they would find a better package
