Would you agree with this analyst of Brandon Ingram?

I think it is pretty on point except for finishing, that needs to be higher, he also needs to stay healthy. I love Brandons attitude about playing in new Orleans, but I want to see him make a leap this year, needs to get better on defense.

Not saying he is a great iso perimeter defender, but he sure as frick isn't an f.

i would say his defense is rather bad, but i think it has more to do with effort than ability. couldn't care less about the rebounding.
and it's hard to believe anything on here when they have him listed at 6'8" 190lb, which is obviously way off.

Pretty fair analysis. The question is...is his obvious weakness on the defensive end due to just a lack of ability to play D or lack of effort? Hopefully, it's the latter as this could possibly be remedied...at least, to a point.

At best it is a D. His effort is minimal way more than it is B.I. being locked in. He is also really bad at navigating screens.

I would like to see Zion move to 5 and Ingram move to the 4, but that defense would be worst than it is already

His finishing is lower than his 3 pt shooting soooo no
If they rated his mid range shooting in the A-A+ range his 3 pt shooting a B- and his finishing a B+ I’d agree

These 2k analyses are killing me lol.
I get it, but kind of makes it a little less serious.
He’s not an F defender. He should be better.

we are about to find out.
his being on the national team may get him coached hard.
my issue with him is his heart and dealing with pressure of carrying the pels. he looked scared 2 years ago. last year more relaxed.
i just saw a photo of Luka. hes fit, first time ever. boy oh boy is he ready.
Slovenia. right before he was drafted he led slovenia to the euro championship.
i remember barkley got fit in the olympic preparation.
i hope we are not in slovenia's group. they just got by china 75 73 in a tune up.

3 PT shooting: B (could become an A if he starts shooting more of them)
Play making: B (getting better every year)
Off Rebounding: D+ is fair
Offensive impact: A- is fair
Finishing: B+
Perimeter ISO Def: D-
Def rebounding: C+
Def impact: D- is fair
Not mentioned mid-range scoring: A+
Availability: C-

He will provide his team with the best opportunity by driving to mid range and pulling up. But he can play post at his size and find cutters and other long range shooters.

the ones he takes are what he can do within his comfort zone.
if he starts taking shots with less space or further or on the move, then i predict his percentage goes down to meh- instead of A its c ror d. hes not passing up easy shots.

Since BI has joined the Pels:
19-20 35.0% of shots were 3-pters...made 39.1%
20-21 34.1% of shots were 3-pters...made 38.1%
21-22 23.0% of shots were 3-pters...made 32.7%
22-23 19.6% of shots were 3-pters...made 39.0%
This shows a developing problem...& I'm sure the Pels will try to remedy it, starting this year. I liked his "comfort zone"...the first 2 yrs he was with the Pels. Past 2 years? NOT so much. SHOOT THA 3 !!!

Is it really a problem?
2020: shoots 6.2 3's per game at 39%, averages 23.8ppg and 4.2 assists. 58.7% TS%
2023: shoots 3.6 3's per game at 39%, averages 24.7ppg and 5.8 assists. 58.2% TS%
his production hasn't really changed, other than averaging almost 2 more assists per game.
His FG% from 0-3 feet went from 65% to 73% in that time frame. From 3-10 feet it went from 37% to 46%. From 10-16 feet it went from 42% to 51%. Each year each of those zones got better. Where he got worst was from 16-3P, shooting 38% from there. That is the shot that needs to stop happening. He takes just as many long 2's as he does 3's. That has to change. That's the shot that he either needs to force the issue to get closer, or he needs to simply pass the ball. I know it's likely an end of shot clock bail out shot sometimes, but it still happens 20% of the time he shoots, which is far too much.
what i'm more interested out of BI is what he does in the last 5 minutes of a game. If we want to be a 50+ win team, and win a playoff series, then BI needs to get to that elite closer level, which i think he can.
This past season he had a TS% of 60.8% in the 4th quarter. his ORTG was 117.8.
In 2020 his TS% was 58.2% in the 4th quarter, with a 110.2 ORTG.
His DRTG is 103 in 2023, and 110 in 2020, but i'd attribute that more to playing with Herb than anything else.
