Can they even start Christmas? That would mean that Finals teams get MAYBE a month off before Training Camp. Pure insanity.

I dont see how an Xmas start for next season is feasible factoring in free agency and the draft. Teams deep in the playoffs would be at a disadvantage.

The NBA should just permanently move their start to early February.

Normally, training camp and preseason lasts for a month.
If they finished October 7 (would likely finish earlier, though), they’re getting roughly 7 weeks off before training camp on or around thanksgiving. Players get less time off in Olympic years.

Cut the season down to like 60 games and start the season in December with preseason happening from like November onwards? I'm downy.

Still stunned they need 2 freaking months from now to restart this shite

I mean the teams are basically going to need a full training camp to get ready for play. It's been almost 2.5 months since play stopped. Add in the additional 2 weeks they'll need to quarantine once they get to Orlando before they can start play and it's going to take some time.

They got a bunch of time off this year. They can handle it for a year.

Why?

JJ talked about it on one of his podcasts. It just takes time to get your body into game shape and a lot of players haven’t even been able to practice shooting while quarantined.

Exactly. Just having a few practices and jumping right back into the highest level of competition is going to lead to a ton of injuries.

There is a wide range between a full training camp and a couple of practices.
