The much-rumored move is for Brogdon (likely sending out Jose and Hawkins), but we'll see.

We would get real depth at guard while we wait to see if Murray can recover. To stay under the tax, we would have to get rid of Hawk's salary and maybe Jose's too.

Something like that has been rumored a couple of places now (Shamit's show was one), but there are several other teams also trying to get Brogdon, and his status isn't really clear, so who knows?

But I think the whole league knows that we are interested in Brogdon.

Just like every FA we go after, we're 3-4 years late on acquiring Brogdon. He's past his prime, worse than Looney.

Brogdon has averaged liked 40 games a year over the last 4 seasons and his production has fallen off

If we deal Jose for him straight up I’ll be pissed, much less with Hawk, too.

Well, that's why he would be affordable.

Hawk has significant negative value right now. No one is taking that contract without some sweetener added. The speculation that Jose could be added to the deal to keep us under the tax is only one way to structure things. Perhaps we give Washington some kind of pick compensation and start the season above the tax line and then figure it out later.

I'm just telling you what is being speculated as a possible deal. Other teams are also trying to work out deals too.

Oh my ire is not directed at you. I just want no part of that deal and really hope he goes elsewhere

I love Jose as much as everyone else, but trading 2 guards for one does clear room for Frears to get playing time. Dumars might be smart enough to realize that Monty will be reluctant to give Frears time to develop, so this would somewhat force his hand.

Brogdon is not only 32, but he's always injured and isn't that good.

I'm not even Jose-stan or anything...I just don't see why we'd target him.

"League sources say that the Wizards are open to sign-and-trade discussions to facilitate Brogdon's exit from Washington and a slew of teams have registered varying levels of interest in the 32-year-old. That list includes the Los Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Lakers as well as the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks."

Not trying to be overly pessimistic but I have no idea what Dumars is doing.

We are going after guys the worst team in the league is happy to cast off and guys one of the smartest teams in the league was fine moving.

Looney
Poole

Rumored for Kuminga and Brogdon.

I mean in what planet is it a good idea to try to replicate the wizards backcourt and the warriors bigs???

Why are we so interested in cast-offs from the worst teams in the NBA?

We likely have one of the worst front offices in NBA history.

None of it makes a bit of sense.

Team already lacks maturity, professionals and shooting so you trade the one guy that does all that.

I'm fine with trading CJ. But for freaking goofball Poole? The tank commander?

You haven't had a stretch big...ever. So you sign a broken down Looney?

Again, you have a history of out of shape star in Zion so you draft a kid with questionable maturity and fitness and not a great shooter?

You desperately need shooting but draft a PG who can't shoot?

In a vaccum, I like Fears and Queen is kind of intriguing but I don't see how they work on this roster.

That doesn't even get into the ridiculous pick trade or the fact that we pursued another non-shooter in Kuminga.

I want to hear Dumars' vision. What exactly is he trying to do?

Because that is how he built his championship teams in Detroit.

Toughness. That's the only plan I've seen out of him.

To me, every move they've made has made the front office seem lazy. They don't work hard for a better deal and trade more for familiarity than talent, production, and fit.

It's like Mickey Loomis and cast-off QBs. He with extremely lucky with Drew Brees and suddenly thought buying lottery tickets in droves was good business practice.

C'mon, man. Why are the Clippers, Suns, T-Wolves, Kings, and Bucks also interested in Brogdon?

How many other 2024-2025 Washington Generals players have they added this offseason? We/ve already added 2.

I find it funny how our own fans talk shite about the franchise but then act surprised that we end up with targets like Looney/ Brogdon. Have y'all considered that no one better than them wants to come here and that both players are better to have than to not?

Yeah lets keep 6' Jose instead of adding more experienced 6'4" Brogdon who won 6th man of the year in the last 2 years. Actual 6th man potential vs some fantasy that a guy can be a 6th man who never will.

I'd be more upset if we got rid of Jose and Hawk. Jose for Malcolm makes sense if we can use Jose's cap + whatever is left. Hawk is going into year 3 and can't really get worse IMO.

It would be worth it to keep him and see if he atleast becomes a positive asset before the trade deadline at worst.
