both the Pels and Blazers will be at 48-34 but the Pels have the division record over Portland
If it came down to a two-way tie between the Pels and Blazers, Portland wins the tie breaker because of a better conference record (division record doesn't apply since they are in different divisions).

You’re right. I think I’ve got it figured out now and I hope I never have to figure that out ever again lol

A couple wins in the first round by the Pels would send energy heading into next season.
Getting sweep by the Rockets or even winning 1 would just seem like deja vu all over again.

true there's a monumental difference between a 4th and 8th seed. Wednesday nights game vs Spurs is going to be best game at the blender this entire regular season.

According to.. LINK , here are our % chance to play each team:
Blazers: 47.9513%
Rockets: 38.6607%
Thunder: 7.45% (we would have home court)
Jazz: 2.7713%
Warriors: 1.3395%
Wolves: 0.5132% (we would have home court)
Nuggets: 0.3146% (we would have home court)
thats not exactly 100% right but gives you an idea. basically we win on wednesday and play portland probably or lose wednesday and play houston probably

Wonder what scenario has to play out in order to host DEN or MIN.

I’m trying to rack my brain on that one too but my initial reaction is that’s the percentage before tonight’s games

Pels win and...
1) GS beats Jazz, Jazz beat Portland, OKC loses --> 3. Jazz, 4. Portland, 5. NOP
Why? Utah wins division because h2h. NOP and Portland both 48 wins. Portland wins tiebreaker because of conference record
2) GS beats Jazz, Jazz beat Portland, OKC wins --> 3. Portland, 4. OKC, 5. Jazz, 6. NOP
Why? Portland wins division over OKC and Jazz because of games between each other. NOP Jazz and OKC all with 48 wins. Against each other, OKC 4-3, Jazz 4-4, NOP 3-4. OkC wins that tiebreaker. Then jazz over pels.
3) GS beats Jazz, Portland beats Jazz, OKC wins--> 3. Portland, 4. NOP, 5. OKC
Why? Portland wins division with 49 wins. NOP and OKC have 48 wins, Jazz have 47 wins. NOP won h2h over OKC.
4) GS beats Jazz, Portland beats Jazz, OKC loses--> 3. Portland, 4. NOP, 5. Jazz
Why? Portland wins division with 49 wins, Pelicans have 48 wins, Jazz OKC Spurs and Denver/Minn all have 47 wins, but Jazz should win tiebreaker, I think, in games against each other.
5) Jazz beat GS, Portland beats Jazz, OKC wins--> 3. Portland, 4. OKC, 5. Jazz, 6. NOP
Why? Portland wins division with 49 wins. NOP Jazz and OKC all with 48 wins. Against each other, OKC 4-3, Jazz 4-4, NOP 3-4. OkC wins that tiebreaker. Then jazz over pels.
6) Jazz beat GS, Portland beats Jazz, OKC loses--> 3. Portland, 4. Jazz, 5. NOP
Why? Portland wins division with 49 wins. Jazz and Pelicans each have 48 wins, but Jazz won h2h.
7) Jazz beat GS, Jazz beat Portland, OKC wins. --> 3. Jazz, 4. Portland, 5. NOP
Why? Jazz win division with 49 wins. Portland, OKC and NOP all have 48 wins. Between each other, Portland is 6-2, NOP 4-3, and OKC 1-6.
8) Jazz beat GS, Jazz beat Portland, OKC wins. --> 3. Jazz, 4. Portland, 5. NOP
Why? Jazz win division with 49 wins. Portland and NOP have 48 wins, but Portland has a better conference record.
If Pelicans lose and...
1) OKC wins --> NOP to 8th
2) OKC loses, NOP/jazz/okc/minn all have 47 wins --> NOP to 8th
Why? In games against each other, Utah 6, Minn 9 3, Okc 5 6, nop 3 8. We fall to 8th.
3) OKC loses, NOP/jazz/okc/den all have 47 wins --> NOP to 8th
Why? In games against each other, Utah 8 4, Den 7 4, Okc 5 6, Nop 4 6. We fall to 8th
4) OKC loses, NOP tied with OKC and either Den or Minn --> Pels to 7th.
Why? Den and Minn both would have better records against tied teams. NOP defeat OKC either h2h
(if minn wins) or by better common record against tied teams (if den wins)
I think that's every combination that matters. I've made a few mistakes tonight already so hopefully this one is right.

I believe this is wrong. Lose to GSW and beat POR plus the likely Thunder win over Memphis means a three-way tie in the Northwest Division. Portland would win that (thanks to going 4-0 versus OKC).

You're correct. Portland would be 6-2, OKC and utah each 3-5

jazz are wrecking GSWs shite right now
if they win, pels will travel to POR either 4/5 or 3/6 with a win over SAS

Good I'd rather play Portland. Jazz would kill us
Posted on 4/10/18 at 8:41 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
they can’t play the jazz
jazz winning this game costs a chance for the pels to host OKC

Way I see it we're going to to beat Portland in 6, Houston in 7, Golden State in WCF in 6 then beat the Sixers for the NBA championship. That's pretty awesome!

Just avoid the Jazz. Everyone else we atleast have a chance
