I'm not usually this guy, but having seen Jrue loaf through 9 games this year and add so little production...it's about time to start considering a ticket on the Jrue Hate Hard Express. For $5 Million we could've signed Derrick Rose, who while still oft injured, can create his own shot on offense and make a play on breakdowns...something Jrue's just not doing. Jrue's been cringeworthy at times and for $26 Million that's a disgrace. HATE HARD. DRose > Jrue

I’d still take Jrue at 10-12 million a year over Rose, but not at 26 million a year that’s outrageous.

Would rather spend 18m on Teague than 25m on holiday.

But how would we sign Teague for 18 mil? They had no choice with Holiday.

Jrue is shooting 25% from behind the arc INCLUDING 6/10 games going 0-for. That's unbelievable... and to say "we couldn't have" had Rose is ludicrous. There was zero market for DRose in the offseason, yeah he wanted a contender but he took a $2 million offer. Triple that with a 2 year $12mil deal, with 2nd year player option and he's yours plus a possibly useful trade asset at this or next year's deadline.

Jrue has never shot below 33% from 3 and is a career 36% perimeter shooter. He didn't forget to shoot after signing a contract. The outside shooting will come. The contract is an overpay and everyone knew that the moment it was signed. The thing to be really frustrated about is that he cannot seem to carry the offense even for portions of single games when we need him to. If he absolutely needs Rondo to return 75% of his contract then that is a big problem.

There's no market for a guy for a reason, he's terrible.

And you think it's a sound strategy to triple the nonexistent market for him? That's insane.

Rose is awful. Jrue will be fine.

the guy you paid $6mil that no one wanted for anything other than league minimum is now going to be a trade asset? Good God, man.

Hell, all that and we didn't even touch on the idea of a Rondo/Rose 1-2. Gross

I remain amazed at the focus on Jrue as the big problem. I want more consistency from him, but he’s not nearly our biggest problem. He is,, on balance, a significant positive. I’m
Not going to obssess over his contract. That’s useless, imo.

well that’s a pretty significant thing to ignore. If he was on a league minimum deal then we would love him.

His contract is a huge problem. I don't see how so many guys in the NBA get "max" contracts that would be the best player (or even second best) on zero teams.

How is a guy like Rose worth 10% of jrue? He is gobbling up a big portion of what could fix other parts of this teams problems.

he's symptomatic of the larger issue- they have no one who can pick up the slack when either Davis or Cousins sits. they are pretty good with both of those guys, regardless of the other 3 so far. they are Process Sixers bad when either one sits.

that Holiday is making $25M annually makes him the biggest fish in the barrel.

At that point, does that matter?

I don't think that would give us $7mil extra to work with.

Not really. It's not like we'd have an extra $26mil if we didn't sign Jrue.

Pretty sure we would have had something between $5-8 mil operating under the cap.

Tell me, genius, all the point guards better than Jrue that were available and willing to go to the Pels for that price. I'll wait for your genius response, I'm sure it's a lengthy list.
