When Gentry was asked if he thought he should have gotten any coach of the year votes

Gentry jokingly said something like "have you seen what happens when you get that?" It really has been a kiss of death over the years and 2018 is no different.

Gentry deserves credit for his coaching since cousins' injury.
Playoffs he and the staff were very good. They should have won 2 vs gsw, but I can't be mad. Gsw is just a league above everyone except maybe Houston.

I was going to shite on the Raptors for firing their coach because he lost in he playoffs to Lebron, but then I read this.
Masai is taking a huge gamble, but heads needed to roll and Bud is an excellent coach that should not be on the market. Masai is a bright guy, I think he already knows they can get Bud who I think is an upgrade for them considering how Masai wants the team to play.

Bud was another great in the regular season bad in the playoffs coach

I think Bud is a great coach, but his best season in Atlanta ended the same way as Casey’s best in Toronto. Swept by LeBron.

I mean it was 3 guys top 5 at their position vs a collection of pieces that fit well, no true superstar.
Atlanta winning 60+ with that team was pretty damn amazing.

Yeah there's a lot of talk around NBA circles about how the Pels were the better team but seemingly get cheated by the refs in every loss.

I feel like at least half of the recent COTY winners have gotten canned within 12 months of winning the award.
I think they're was a 3 or 4 year stretch where every coty winner got canned the following year (or sooner).

Not really--- they've been swept 3 out of the 4 past seasons. Gotta at least compete, dog. Especially if you're the 1 seed.

I get that that game is a sensitive issue here. It was a hard fought game v the defending champs on the road
but can any team really say "we should have won" when they were down by 13 with less than 2 minutes left in the game?
