The answer is conditioning before anything else.

He really needs to do a body recomp, lose some muscle and bulk. As he does this, his cardio would definitely get better. Along with that though, he has to increase his flexibility. Anything that makes him less susceptible to injury..

Rebounding is another thing he should focus on too. He should be a double double monster tbh.

Offensive rebounding. He's a good offensive rebounder because of his quickness and strength, but he could be a nightmare for other teams if he really devoted himself to it. Part of it is Willie Green emphasizing getting back on defense over everything else, but a big part of it is just not working hard for position.

It shouldn't be a single aspect though. He needs to continue to improve on defense and become a much better free throw shooter. He has the physical tools to do all three things at an extremely high level. He needs to commit to doing the work required to do them consistently.

Then you would be guarding Zion like every other team in the league does. Have you watched any games?

He needs to look like he does now in September.

He needs to become the most flexible motherfricker on the planet

That's it

Z’s a long way off

He’s in year 6 and as good as some on this board claim he is

He hasn’t sniffed a playoff game, let alone a playoff win, series win, etc

He needs to improve his availability

Ways to get better

Lose weight
Stop driving 30 times a game
Gotta keep the defense honest and himself healthy
Improve handle
Improve overall bbiq and situational iq
Surround himself with winners off the floor (he does not do this)

He’s miles away from being a 1 on a Championship team right now

He’s this era’s Carmelo Anthony, minus a lot of health and Carmelo never even came close to a ring in an NBA that was not nearly as deep as this one.

Beyond fitness, he needs to develop an outside shot. He really need to focus on fitness, though. If he shows up to training camp 1 pound heavier than he is right now, the offseason was a failure.

They do, but also...

You're not stopping Zion if your'e flat footed in the paint and he has a 10 foot head start to run right at you. You're going to lose that one more times than not.

This....t's all about conditioning, above the next 5 things combined he needs to work on.

He needs to be able to keep somewhat close to THIS level of play but for 34-36 minutes per night.

In the last 20 games, Zion is averaging 25.9/6.7/5.3 with exact 2 Stocks per game. He's doing that in 28.4 minutes per game.

If you extrapolate that to 35 mpg, he's 32ppg/8.3 rpg/6.5 apg on 2.5 Stocks per game.

But...I don't think he can do that night in and night out for 35mpg without an injury. I just don't see it as terribly realistic.
