What Happened to Pistol Pete's Jersey and the Southwest Title Banner?

I wanted to ask this earlier in the year but was banned. I get the rebrand but that doesn't mean you should forget the 10 years of Hornets basketball that took place in the city.

Then where is the banner? I understand getting rid of Phill's jersey because that was a part of Charlotte's history.

It's hanging in Heady's man cave

It is sad that after 25 years of existence, the only retired jersey the Charlotte Hornets/New Orleans Pelicans have is of a dead guy. No other stars have stayed long enough with either franchise to get their jersey retired. Maybe West does but if he wins with the Pacers, I'm sure he'd identify more with them.

the renamed Hornets will reclaim the history and records of the 1988-2002 Hornets, while all of the original Hornets' records from 2002 to 2013 will remain with the Pelicans
This is weird to me. So because the Bobcats changed their name to the Hornets, records that happened with the franchise that is now the Pelicans, will be attributed to a franchise that didn't exist at the time of the records occurrence?

David West? Retired jersey?

He is the only realistic shot and that just shows how pathetic it is. Paul will retire with the Clips. Zo, LJ, and Rice finished their careers elsewhere as well.

Is it really that pathetic? New Orleans has only had NBA basketball for a total of about 17 seasons. Teams with lots of names on the ceiling have been around for 40, 50, 60, and some almost 70 seasons.
Shoot, even the Lakers went 17 years between retiring James Worthy and Jamaal Wilkes.

West was and is a great player. Had he stayed in NO I'd have no issue with retiring his jersey.

Does anyone know the answer to the OP's question?
Is the Pistol Pete banner not up in the N.O Arena?
If not, where is it???

There is a Maravich Jazz banner in the Superdome along with other banners

I remember reading an article when some Pelicans representative said they have plans to honor Maravich.

I'm including the years in Charlotte as well. 25 years with no retired jerseys between two franchises based on merit is sad.

The only team that has been around for 30 years or less and has players' numbers retired (for on court accomplishments) is Miami (Hardaway and Mourning) and Tim Hardaway actually played longer and got more of his accolades with Golden State.

At least you know Garnett's will be retired with the Wolves.
