Yea, the punching the minor and having his entire crew threaten and assault a security guard is old news that the team "addressed" but the flashing a gun at a strip club happened last night after the game against the Nuggets.

Don't these teams fly together out from the city the night they play?

Judging from things, I'm guessing the Grizzlies allow him to do whatever he wants and he doesn't have to fly with the rest of the team.

Watching the video it looks like hes throwing up gang signs also.

Memphis needs to hire him a babysitter, or suspend him for an extended period of time to get ahold of this, he clearly shows a lack of judgement

I think you guys are overreacting

Nothing is going to happen to Ja and he’s also not going to turn into Aaron Hernandez

If there was an nba redraft of 2019 at 7pm today, 29 of 30 teams would pick Morant first.

The one team that might not, would be the Cavs.

This is 100% unequivocally false, there’s not many teams in the league that would take Ja over Zion. When he plays Zion has shown he has the talent to be in the best ever conversation, there’s multiple players like Ja, there’s none like Z. This is just factoring in on court abilities, this is not even taking into account the recent off court shite from Ja

quote:

he’s also not going to turn into Aaron Hernandez

He’s well on his way to this status and is showing more and more signs that he would rather be a thug than anything else.

yes zion is unique.

yes morant is merely one of several like him.

nevertheless

i bet most gm see morants career as 27 7 and 7, and as a dependable starter on a championship team
but see zion as
wait til next year b.s.

you hope zion is healthy long enough to work on his game.

morant works on his game.
he's still got some ceiling.
as good a #2 pick as you can hope. he's now more confident from 3.
watch and see. in a couple years he will be a better ft shooter.

no one knows if zion can stay healthy long enough to develop an arsenal.

zion has the higher (all time!) ceiling.
morant looks like he MIGHT get to his darn nice ceiling, say top 50 all time.

I think you underrate actually playing games too much

Also. I don’t think this off court stuff will last. Slight blip. He’s young.

He punched a dude who unnecessarily threw basketball at him. He merely flashed a gun in his waistband. He got in an altercation with someone who disrespected his mother. He had fun in a strip club.

Massive overreactions everywhere. If this was Zion or Ingram, y’all would be downplaying the shite out of this and you know it. Y’all are clinging to this story and getting on your high horses bc our basketball team currently sucks.

The frick we would. I don't need my fricking Ultra mega superstar dusting up with a kid in a pickup game or flashing iron ever to look tough. That's bullshite.

If Zion/Ingram pulled this we’d have a 300 page thread and a bunch of PT tourists all piling on them with endless consternation and hate

Especially if it was during this recent lull….and they wouldn’t be wrong

I do find it interesting how the scripts have entiriely flipped though.

A year ago it was Zion that was told to us by the media and blogosphere that was the difficult, untenable diva superstar unfit for small market life, and Ja the model citizen and ideal small market superstar.

The injuries suck, but Zion is showing himself to be the far better man at this point. And in the long-term that is going to matter

So should we completely ignore the past 6 years of Morant of being a largely decent/good guy (2 in college and 4 in nba) over a rough 3 weeks?

I get the sense he is going through an immature phase. I don’t get the sense he is actually in a gang or a legitimate danger to anyone.

See, i don’t think Memphis thinks it’s a big deal at all, bc they ignored every other headline and played him 40 mins a game.

They are simply caving to public pressure on this. They have to, for optics. The nba didn’t care either. The only reason why Ja is missing 1-2 games is because of optics and too many negative headlines over a 2 week period.

If Memphis or the NBA was really worried about this, they would have suspended him 2-4 weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Cam Thomas, gets baited into saying “no homo” by shithead TNT analyst, and he gets fined $40K within an hour.

Unless he pulls on the wrong person that don't gaf that he's in the NBA and he ends up like Young Dolph.

I don't know what board you been on but we would for sure be critical of Zion or BI if they pulled the stupid stuff Morant does. Shoot the other day a bunch of people was saying Zion was 350 because he wore a puffy jacket and every other day there's a trade BI topic.

Wait you think only Pels fans are reacting like this?

This is not at all a small story for a person of his stature with the brand marketing deals he has. This isn't some 11th dude down at the end of the bench for the Charlotte Hornets.

All these incidents didn't happen in the last 3 weeks. Only 1 of them did.

He had previous incidents, and he proved he learned nothing from them based on his tweets in response to the Pacers incident. This one last night is just further proof.

The fact that he posted this to his own social media just shows how far out of touch with reality he is and how he thinks he can get away with doing whatever he wants.

It's like an identity crisis. "No, I really am a thug. I'm not a fabulously wealthy megastar who's the new face of the NBA. Don't try to make me a normal, likeable guy."

As our former center Derrick Favors tweeted:

It’s ok to be a basketball player

Anyone that rich and famous that flashed a gun at a club is a dumb piece of shite.

He’s retarded and I could not care less if he ever plays again. He’s going to frick around and find out like these dumb arse rappers

Just think about this dude just had a story come out about him assaulting some teenager and threatening him with a gun so he decides to go to a strip club after another road loss where his teammate tore his Achilles and decides to post himself holding a gun on IG. Like how out of touch with reality can you get.

the agent stands to lose millions if the clothes shoes and drinks go away.
