I'm a lifelong Redskin fan. When the team went up for sale, they didn't go for a "local" guy. It went to the best package. The new owner also owns a team in Philly and New Jersey. He supposedly lives in Maryland. But he bought a home in Florida for over 30M a few years back. Billionaires aren't bound by geography..

DC is an incredibly different situation than ours, and you cannot compare them or the NFL situation.

Very few billionaires will want to keep the team here, unless they are buying the Saints too. Maybe someone like Graves steps up.

But for now, I certainly would rather a mediocre owner that keeps the team here over one that could be great, but may move it. If an owner moves the team then them being great doesn't help us very much.

Murray and McCollum do. The culture is so rotten that they basically get washed out. It’s from the top down.

Coaching, vet role players, support staff, they all need to get on board.

Think about what you just wrote. If so, then why are people complaining? It's not a winning or successful structure. We are trying to compete as a mom/pop shop. It's not tenable.

Are we basketball fans or not? It's my team, they move I'll follow. I moved away 10 years ago and still support them. This is embarrassing though and only getting worse.

This isn't charity, where the league has to support a bad situation just to keep a team in NO. Every time a team goes for sale, it's put up to all investors. Stymimg all success to keep it in NO is dumb. Plus her foundation won't go for it. A charitable organization is going to turn down 3B+ (where it possibly gets moved) to take 2B from a "local" group. That's not going to fly..

yes, you have shared this trash opinion to troll everyone on here, as usual, several times.

We are fans because it says NOLA on the front. If they move they no longer exist

I want a purge of the coaching staff and front office.

Start a new era.

I disagree. The coach makes a huge difference.

OF course you will, but you shouldn't be losing every game by 20+.
You think the Orlando Magic are going to go 2-15 and in those 15 losses have all but 6 of them be double digit arse whippings?
Do you realize that? 9 of our last 17 games have been double digit arse whippings.
The Magic have played 3 games now without Paolo and Franz. They beat the Suns, loss to the Bucks by 5 and the game was tied in the last minute, and loss to the Knicks by 9. Their injuries came at a terrible time, as they are going to play 8 playoff teams in their first 8 games without their 2 best players. Meanwhile we're losing by 30 to Toronto.
There are college teams that could do better than 2-15.

Coaching matters.

Really just think we need a star player who gives a frick
______________________________________

This is just a personal feeling of mine, but i think these lottery wins make available top so called generational talents like Zion and Davis which had issues being here in the 1st place. Their egos have to be tolerated, and they are always looking for the next place to go. I think we would be better served with a group of talented players that are not necessarily MVP targets. Ingram looked like he would be one like that when he came. He was happy then Zion comes along with all his on and off court crap and changed Ingram. Had we traded at that point, Zion for a very good player or 2 and some more future 1st round who knows where we would be now. JMO

Yep. That’s 90% of the puzzle. Everything else is fringe.

Have you ever taken a second to look at the games played and stats of a Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Tatum, etc. it’s freaking depressing. Our best player wants to be rich, he doesn’t want to play basketball. Fix that, and get a coach that will hold people accountable.

How many teams have drafted 3 guys who are starters on most teams, 3 quality backups, and our current rookie who looks like a long term starter in the nba, all in the last 4 years. And we already had 2 all-stars on the team to go with all these draft picks, as well as a guy who's going to go down as one of the best players to never make an all-star team.

I don’t know.

But the current top 3 teams in the east and the west all drafted their way back to the top of the standings. Our path is through the draft.

if they gonna continue to put out this shitty arse product, who gives a frick?

at this point, i'd gladly see them off to Seattle, or anywhere else for that matter... shitty arse organization...

So we intentionally want to support a losing situation, just to keep the team local?

That is just sad and doesn't make sense. When teams go up for sale, it's to the highest bidder. If NO wants to keep a team, it needs to step up. Better arena, tv deals, the works.. if it moves, it moves.

I have never lived in NO. Do you only want people that live in the city to support them?

How do you define support?

That is a weird question. Are you questioning my Fandom?

I've been a fan since they moved. I post on here pretty regularly. I try to watch a game or two in person each season. I watch almost every game, each year (I buy league pass). I own property in the state that subsidizes them. I buy and wear their merchandise. I'm not sure what qualifies someone as a dedicated fan, which I'm not claiming to be.

I did look this up. The team made 272M last year. It got 51M from gate receipts and currently has less than 12,000 season tickets holders (many are blocks bought by companies). So, the majority of the teams money is not coming locally. Maybe it's best to embrace non-local fans and try to increase the fanbase..

You say this stuff on Saints report, you'll get banned. Does anyone know how to check to see if the Saints are trying to control whats said about them?.. I wonder if we can find out if the Saints make "contributions" to the site? I think they obviously do, which means Mickey is staying.
