I just think getting OG is upgrading something thats kind of already a strength for us. I think rim protection is a more glaring weakness
This is the my thought also. OG and, for that matter too, Collins are not too dissimilar from Herb and Nance.

Toronto dodged a bullet (apparently) when OG took that terrible fall the other night. Could have been a disaster for trading purposes. Can't imagine OG will take the court again...until after his trade is done.

By the way, I've already seen enough of Rui Hachimura (or Rui Hoochamomma...as Barkley called him the other day) to figure out he's gonna be next to no help, for the Lakers.
PS: Barkley is ONE FUNNY guy.

This is year 2 of those rumors and if thats true then i dont want to trade for him since his role would be the exact same here and he would be just as unhappy
Agreed, unless he really does have these magical Draymond skills as a rim protector I'm skeptical of actually existing.
Cause absent being our Center half the time too, you are correct, there is just no way to give OG what he is seeking with 3, maybe 4 guys above him in the pecking order.

Which I dont think he does. Maybe I'm wrong but i havent seen a ton of rim protection from him just really good perimeter D

"Grant is not available and will not be available"
He could be available this summer, but at a HUGE cost.
LINK
"Reports came out that the Blazers offered Grant a four-year, $112.6 million extension. That's the max Portland can offer Grant as a veteran extension. If Grant doesn't extend by the June 30 deadline, he'll be an unrestricted free agent on July 1. At that point, Grant will be eligible to sign up to a five-year, $233.2 million deal with the Trail Blazers, or a four-year, $172.9 million deal with another team."

Good player but I question his impact especially at the price he commands. I don't see him as a guy who can lead a team to anything. There's something missing with him. Puts up good stats, has amazing tools, but just seems like he's just there the court but doesn't really impact the game like you'd expect him to.

Not to us, we don’t have cap space to sign him. And he only turned that down because Portland can give him more in the summer, he’s already said he’s happy there and wants to stay there.

he's not worth that, especially for a small market, cash strapped team like us

Rui has been helping them win games…who say he won’t benefit for them?

Per Shams, the Raptors are now taking calls on OG Anunoby:

Guilty as charged. Had a good game tonight for sure. Still don't think he will be a factor...when things get serious, but I've been wrong before so...

I guess it's "official" now.

The Knicks offered 3 1sts, the problem with their picks is they are all protected picks, so it sounds great, but in reality it’s shitty picks

I'm really starting to wonder if the Pels don't make a move given our current slump and seemingly no end in sight until Zion returns.
Posted on 2/1/23 at 9:11 am to shel311
Nahh, we making a move, there’s far to much smoke around the team being involved in talks. They’re not throwing away another season

There is no way someone is giving Jerami Grant $40M+/yr and making him a top 10 paid player in the league. If they do, then they deserve the losing and complaining they will be doing for the next 4 years. $25-30m/yr is reasonable for him. He's played really well the last few years, but he can't be your 2nd best player.
If the Blazers really wanted to win, they'd get him resigned in that $30M/range, and they'd trade Simons for a SG/SF that can score AND DEFEND. OG should be there target.

Gary Trent Jr. could expect a deal in the $20-million range if he opts out of the last year of his contract, per @michaelgrange “In other words, the idea of a Jordan Poole or Tyler Herro-like payday” (Via sportsnet.ca/nba/article/wh…)
If it’s 20 million a year we should get hin today, if it’s Poole/Herro money (30 million), then I’m good.
