You’re kidding right?

You want to trade all that for a criminal who’s contract expires at the end of the year??? Hell no!

I wouldn't trade Dyson for Bridges straight up, much less with a 1st attached.

I thought that said Mikal Bridges to start and wondered why everyone was kicking up a fuss!

Then I re read and agree with Yaz. You want to trade all that for an expiring criminal!?

It’s a disgrace that he’s allowed to play in the nba. Certainly don’t want him on my team, much less giving up things of value to make that happen

Either OP is a retard who wants to send a massive package for average arse, criminal Miles Bridges

OR

OP is a retard who thinks Mikael Bridges plays for the Hornets.

So you want to send 3 players out and get back 1, and still be a tax team that has to sign 2-3 more guys to fill out the roster, likely putting us at about $5M over the tax.
And then who's minutes is Claxton taking? JV and Larry play 100% of the minutes at the 5. Which one of them are you taking minutes from?

For Claxton while giving up zero players of note and one 1st? Abso-fricking-lutely I want to.

That would be as much of a YES no brainer as the OP is a NO no brainer.

Healthy Larry can play the 4 just fine, plus you have the ability to give more/less minutes situationally.

Just a very quick mock up, not necessarily based on what I think but a combo of what I think plus what we're actually doing currently but if Claxton were added, with the only caveat being I'd move Naji out of the rotation entirely but I know Willie wouldn't lol.

CJ - 33
Bi - 33
Herb - 27
Zion - 30
Jval - 24
Trey - 26
Jose - 16
Claxton - 21
Nance - 18
Hawk - 12

And again, the Val/Claxton/Nance minutes are more situational based on night to night matchups and foul trouble.

JV is no doubt having a great season. But I'd be lying if I didn't worry about him being played off the court in the playoffs. It will always be a big possibility when it comes to traditional bigs who has to play drop coverage to be on the floor.

Nance staying 100% healthy is probably a pipedream. The issue with Larry even if he can play through injuries is if the said injury zaps his athleticism, it makes him a liability.

I don't know what the answer is but gambling on JV/Nance will be risky in April/May.

Right, if that comes to fruition and Val is truly just unplayable in the playoffs, we have Claxton/Nance to take over.

But Val is a very valuable regular season player IMO, and that is an important value to have. Same with Jose, he may get played off the court in a playoff setting but is very valuable to our team in the regular season.

Yep, another reason why that Claxton deal would be a no brainer.

just b/c he can doesn't mean he should.

Last year JV and Nance shared the court for 78 minutes.
We had an ORtg of 89.3, and a Drtg of 101.3, NetRtg of -12.

They've shared the court for 11 minutes this year, which really isn't enough to say anything, but the ORtg was 31.8, DRtg was 136.4.

We just played the only team in the NBA you would think you would need two bigs to defend in Minny, and JV and Larry didn't play together at all. Do It Big is dumb.

Larry Nance Jr is not a 4, and neither is Claxton.
We have an all nba talent at the 4 in Zion, and Trey should have all of the back up 4 minutes, on top of playing the 3 as well. The only reason to ever have Trey not get all of those minutes at the 4 is if he plays all his minutes at the 3 and we find a backup 4 who can shoot, like Grant Williams or Naz Reid or more attainable Dario Saric

It would be beyond dumb to have a lineup with 2 of JV/Larry/Claxton on the court, b/c none of them can shoot.

I"m not saying i wouldn't want Claxton, but you bring him in one of JV or Larry should go, and i just don't see the point in that right now.
I'd rather keep both of them, even going into next year (although we'll see what happens in teh playoffs) and draft a young big.

The more of Zion's backup minutes Trey gets, the less we can play Trey with Zion. We should be staggering the 2 as little as possible.

By Feb if this team is looking good you convert Ryan to a standard contract and fill out the rest of the roster with vets.

Going into the tax for Kira no.
Going into the tax for Claxton, Ryan and other vets yes.

JV, Claxton and Nance will be situational for the remainder of the season.
Postseason too.

Nance can also guard the bigger PF's that this team hasn't got an answer for at the moment instead of him using all his energy guarding 5's.
