You would basically be conceding a playoff spot with that trade, but longterm it would be good because you should still be able to trade Tyreke.

If Derozan sits at all after the trade you are screwed for this season in the west.

The best thing about a Love for Asik/Anderson would be getting Love when Houston was interested.

Ryno/Asik for Love would be a perfect example of what we all thought Dell was trying to do for the past few seasons: trade two acquired $0.50 pieces for a $1 piece. Only difference in my trade is that we're trading our $1 with an awful contract for cap space and another $0.50 piece.

What if they keep Ross?

Yeah i think asking for Ross would be a hangup. You are basically offering them someone they have to convince to stay and an overpaid SG. Just Derozan and expiring would probably be easier to swing.

So basically it would have cost Anderson and a 1st to unload Gordon while also getting back Derozan.

You would then still have Tyreke who is definitely moveable.

Which is pretty reasonable. I also remember that Dell inquired about Derozan, even when we had EG/Reke.

I like Ross a lot tho. Can DD play sf?

I'd do that 3 teamer but I'd want Ross back also or they can give up one of their young prospects. I feel like it's not enough value for us to give up Anderson asik Gordon and only get back basically DD if they wouldn't do Ross also. P

And in the orginal trade I posted if we could add Gordon and get waiters in return also that'd be ideal obvis

Well obviously Love is a much larger trade asset if he agrees to extend at the next destination.

The whole problem with trade ideas around him is because I don't trust he would be interested in some of these destinations.

Toronto's ownership/management has said they want to be Lakers East, so if they thought they had a shot at keeping a star like Love, I think they'd consider breaking up what they have now. Turn Tyreke into a defensive center and depth and you're set. Would Memphis have interest in Tyreke? Koufos and Prince for Tyreke, maybe throw in a future pick to make it worth our while?

It's hard to think Demps could survive trading for Love but not landing Love, but this is the more balanced roster everyone has been asking for.

Holiday/Rivers
Derozan/Fields
Ross/Prince/Babbitt
AD/Amir Johnson
Koufos/Ajinca/Withey

Toronto hangs up laughing. Why one earth would they do that deal? Makes them considerably weaker.

The Raps are getting at least the #3 seed in the East. They have the depth and moxy to challenge Chicago.

They are carried by Lowry and Valanciunas. DD is their better version of Reke. If you can trade a guy like him and expirings for Love and a SG that can be "pretty good" when healthy, why not? Toronto is exactly the kind of team that can re-sign Love. Cleveland gets a poor man's love and a guy that should be one of the best big man defenders in the NBA (exactly what they need). It gives us a chance to reset with a really good trio and lots of cap space. I'll say this: it's a trade I would make, but it's not one that I think we come out way on top of. That's kind of the sign of a good trade (not if it's my opinion, but the GM's).

I tend to agree though, it's very close but it makes Toronto too thin. Swap Gordon for Reke and maybe Toronto has more interest, but then it seems like we would lose interest because you trade away the asset you need to get a center and depth.

Man, I love that deal and I can't even really figure out who would say no. Cleveland I guess, but that move really helps them. They get a poor man's Kevin Love in Ryno plus a good rim protector/rebounder which they desperately need.

It makes no sense to swap Gordon and Tyreke in this hypothetical deal.

Asik, Anderson, and Evans are not hurting our cap space as they all have reasonable deals. The only bad contract we have is Gordon which would be the only difficult one to trade.

I think if Demps was interested he could easily dump Anderson, Evans, and Asik; however, that makes no sense as they are all valuable to this team.

This whole hypothetical deal is about dumping Gordon (at least how I look at it). Gordon when healthy is worth about $8-10 million right now.

I love me some Valanciunas, but in no way does he carry them. Amir Johnson picks up a lot of slack defensively there as well as he is very compentent four.

DeRozan is a very nice two way player, something that's hard to come by in this league. He's a part of their plan.

Ross might be the expendable one,as his performance is up and down.

Their depth and continuity is what makes Toronto special. Lowry is very good with a nice balance around him. Take that away and he might be doing too much.

Love is going to a colder city where he is double taxed bro.

The Raps have one of the best GMs in the league. In this trade they lose a ton of assets for a guy who's never won anything that would be a rental.

So like I said, they'd hang up laughing.

I don't think you're wrong, but you're underestimating Love's value. Look at Bosh pre and post Lebron. Look at Love's value in this past offseason. They may not want him right now since they're doing so well, but wait for a losing streak and they'll be thinking about that kind of move pretty heavily.

Do you at least agree that the trade makes sense for the Cavs? If so, the Pels have tons of options if they can get Love.
