Trade idea. Thoughts?

On another board a cavs fan proposed this and most of the cavs man actually like it
Love for Anderson and asik
Or love and waiters for Anderson asik and Gordon
Getting the best player in the deal
Helps Cleveland gets Anderson to take love role and asik as the defensive center they need

I don't even think the Pels would do this. Love probably isn't interested in signing a long term deal with us and it would be a disaster if you gave up Anderson and Asik for nothing.

So give up our best contract, value wise, plus our rim protector we gave a 1st for who will likely re-sign in the offseason for a rental of Love who will probably sign in LA if he were traded?

The Love for Ryno/Asik doesn't make sense for us, but bringing in a third team could lead to a great move. Toronto would definitely listen to an EG/Love for Derozan/expiring pupu platter deal.
We could deal Reke for an expiring if we want and start fresh with Jrue/Derozan/AD next season.

I have no doubt that Ryno would start shooting 40% from 3pt range once he made it to Houston. Would hope that Ariza gave him some pointers once he made it there.

I still don't see why Love would stay in Toronto.

He's not. That trade outright makes no sense. But converting Asik/Ryno/EG into a good player in Derozan and a lot of cap space makes a lot of sense.

I agree about getting Derozan and cap space would be huge.
I don't get the stuff about the Cavs unless a third team like Toronto was involved. Also we would definitely need to be dealing with the East in any trades as we can't really afford to make the Western conference stronger.
Davis/Holiday/Derozan would be a legit core though.
If we could get someone like Derozan and cap space without losing Asik that would be better though.

It makes sense with Monty as coach. Love is a better fit to close out games than Ryno, and we already blow on defense so why not?

I was just asking thoughts again this was posted on another board and brought it here. Only do it if k love commited to signing here long term. Cavs really need a defensive center. Terribly. Get Anderson on a great contract. We get another star to pair with Davis and we have seen how k love can be when he's not a 3rd wheel

The best thing about a Love for Asik/Anderson would be getting Love when Houston was interested.
