If we do anything it will be the equivalent of last year's Salmons for Cole at the deadline.

The Pels have one of the more sought trade pieces and there are lots of buyers looking to improve. If there's crazy movement at the trade deadline and we don't take advantage of it then Loomis needs to get fired too.

That is an OLD tweet from when we got Ryno initially. Fisher was just showing that to say there has been mutual interest between the Kings and Ryno in the past.

It happens. Someone over on PR was talking about the Shabazz and Dieng for Trey Burke trade and most people including myself thought he was talking about something that just happened, not a trade from 2 years ago. We're in "Shoot anything that moves!" mode

TBW Article

Stein/Windhorst confirmed an earlier report that the raptors are very interested in Ryno.

Kings are shopping Ben McLemore

RekeHavoc over at PR who has had inside info in the past like on Ryno's injury, just posted this.

quote:

Take what you want from this, but something big is brewing. Don't know much, but I'm just hearing that a big trade involving us is in the works.

Speculate away or don't believe it, just sharing.

LINK

"Big trade involving us" could still end up being a Salmons for Cole situation, but my fingers are crossed that Ryno's as in demand as he appears to be.

I am guessing that we are somehow involved in sending Dwight Howard to Miami or we are trade raping Sacramento.

Why don't we send Asik into the Cavs exception...

Then turn Ryno into Koufos... while the Cavs pick up McLemore...

We end up with a $9mm+ trade exception ourselves... and Koufos.
You still draft Jakob Poeltl. Maybe you turn that trade exception into Jeff Teague in the offseason. Or maybe we use it now! i dunno.

This is an internet rumor someone saw that was posted in that thread, not inside info, but it seemed like a good return for Jrue so:

Jazz get Jrue, Cole
Pels get Trey Burke, Alec Burks, and a pick

Burks is out for the season which helps with the tank and makes the Jazz have to give more value (thus the pick added). The question is would the pick be their own 2016 pick or one of the 2017 picks they are owed by OKC and GS. If it's their 2016, that's actually a pretty good return for Jrue.

You also have to factor in the tank value.

Jrue + Hield
vs. Burke + Burks + Simmons/Ingram/Brown + Valentine(Jazz pick)

That's interesting I guess. Not ideal for Jrue obviously.

If we get value for Ryno and can dump a bad contract in other deals it gets a lot better.

Why do you say that?

That's the exact kind of deal you'd want for Holiday.

Burks is young, controllable, and would be money in Gentry's system. Trey Burke is meh but he's getting better and is adequate enough to give you 30 mpg in a tank. Plus the pick

You have to factor in Jrue's health. Guy goes down for an extended period coming up on a contract, you are gambling with him as it is. Sell while he has value

Who does toronto have to even offer for Ryno? Carroll, Biyombo, and valanciunas are the only 3 I can think of and I'm sure they're not willing to part with Carroll or Valanciunas

I think we're picking 7-9 if we don't make any major trades to get worse this season. A trade like Jrue to the Jazz is a bit of a reset, it's something you do if you're bringing in a new GM and would need to be part of other moves like moving Ryno for future assets and maybe dumping Asik/Reke.
