re: To deal or no deal - AD

I wonder how some of you can dress yourselves. How would someone even entertain in the lowest levels of drunkenness or the highest of drug-addled fogs the idea of trading off an elite NBA star. AD on the open market may be coveted as the number one player in today's NBA, or at least second only to LeBron.
My God, man!
My God, man!

Hear me out ..
I honestly can't think of a deal that would entice the franchise to trade " The franchise"

Would you trade any of your vital organs?
- you are often ill
- your best days are probably behind you
- you are going to die someday anyway
If you would entertain offers.. what would it take?
If not, why?

Who are you going to trade him for to better our playoff shot? No one, your an idiot for suggesting this.
And don't give me trade him to plan for the future. He is the future, and the time is now for the Pelicans to get better each year.

I’d trade all of them to not see something as done as the op again

These are the 2k video game players. It's a dumb idea plain and simple. Small market teams hold onto their players until they force their way out, not the other way around. This is AD's healthiest years too.

VOR - thanks for a serious response. I was only asking a question to feel the pulse of the board. A few months ago rumors were flying about AD to Boston. Was just curious everyone’s opinion.

The problem is that you are failing to realize how serious the responses to your question are. Seriously,

It is just a pretty random time to bring this up when we are on our way to the playoffs and on a 10 game win streak, and AD is a MVP candidate. The Boston rumors were never from our side, it was mostly from the national media wanting AD to be in a bigger market.

It is funny that 1 month ago many on this board (and countless others on the interwebs) had serious questions as to whether the Celtics would give up Brown and Tatum for AD.

Would you listen to offers for AD?
-often injured
-playing for 3rd in the West at best for the foreseeable future
-zero draft picks in 2018
If you would entertain offers.. What would it take?
If not, Why?
To hell with hearing you out, you sound stupid as fukk. Go play in traffic.
Ps. We have a 2nd round pick in 2018 dumb bitch.

Last I checked there were 159 downvotes in the other thread can we make it to 160?! I Pelieve!!
To be serious OP just in case your question is genuine, there is nothing to entice NOP to trade AD short of Giannis + Middleton + Bledsoe + a 1st. He is the face of the franchise, something many teams do not have and what those that don’t are frantically trying to find
He does get injured a bit, but not nearly as bad as he is labeled to be. He is a smaller ‘big man’, but it’s also what allows him to have such a complete offensive game, be a great defender, and rim runner. I’ll take his skills on this team even if that means some occasional twisted ankles every single time.
Draft picks hold the possibility of a better future, but how many times do high picks deliver? How may teams do you think wish they would’ve drafted Giannis before Milwaukee at #17? It’s truly a crap shoot and players like AD don’t come around often. But even if AD was traded, we still have Jrue and Boogie in their primes. How long until those draft picks contribute? Few in the entire draft (probably none) will be Donovan Mitchell their first year.
There is a vision for the franchise, there is a change in culture happening along with an improving perception around the league, and there is a continuity amongst the players. AD is central to all.
Finally there’s an excitement in New Orleans about this team that hasn’t been experienced since CP3 took us to the playoffs. Again AD is the center of this.

Whew.....Tough crowd, but I have to agree with the rant on this one. AD is a Top 3 player in the league and the only reason anyone may want to come play in New Orleans....
Also, the Pelicans traditionally draft terribly, unless they have the number 1 pick

Sure, I’d listen.
For instance, if a team offered Michael Jordan and a time machine to make him 24 years old again , and also threw in their first round picks starting in 2019 until eternity.
