what sucks is that Garland seems to be a stud and a super plus shooter

Hayes will never be a guy you can happily give consistent minutes to. He lacks too much up top.

He was such a high risk guy, even still I think we'd have taken hunter. Now if naw turns out to be decent, than we'll be okay.

Hayes becoming a legitimate starter or trade piece could make it a "win". The issue is he keeps being inconsistent

who Garland? yeah. i was worried

i also hated Reddish at 8 and i'm an idiot for that, apparently. he went from REAL bad to looking REAL prosperous by the end of last year

so i was way off last year

I think I remember reading that Culver was the guy we liked as well as Hunter, and we thought we might be able to get one of them at 8.

What’s frustrating is that of the top 13 picks, I think Jaxson is easily the worst of all of them.

Nah, there are a number that are putting up empty stats on bad teams.

We can start with the #3 pick, R.J. Barrett.

I never liked Barrett, but he’s got a better outlook than Jaxson does, and he was given expectations his rookie year that he simply shouldn’t have had on such a shitty team.

He’s having a great start to the year. Maybe something clicked. He was statistically the worst player in the entire nba last year.

He was a twig. Put in major work to bulk up in the off-season. That + natural progression + major talent led to a big jump.

His start is too hot to be sustainable though.

I think Hayes should be given time. Some are too quick to give up on him. Before he was drafted we knew he was asking raw prospect with great athleticism. His rookie year was cut. He has had two coaches in two years.

If one person on the team was gonna struggle, it was gonna be Jaxson Hayes. Don't compare his progress with Zion and NAW. Zion had an NBA body from day 1 and was the number 1 overall pick for a reason. Also remember NAW is 22. He spent More time in college than Hayes, so his game isn't as raw.

Let Hayes continue to grow it's gonna be ugly at first, he's gonna struggle with the plays cause he's young and raw. Once he gets confident in the system, he'll be ready.

Y'all are going crazy over a dude we already knew was gonna take some time to develop. They had a 2 week training camp. And this is the second week of the season. He's been in the system a month. Give him time. Now if it's halfway through the year and he's unplayable then questions need to be asked.

17lbs off season is ridiculous. Only thing I hear about Hayes is he works out 3-4 a day to gain strength and not weight because he doesn’t want to lose his speed

Thats my take on it also.

Naw looks much better

Hayes problem is he is so goofy. Doesn't seem to be a student of the game

Heard the same thing about NAW not too long ago, both are very young,

NAW is two years older than Hayes. He was still in college at 20 year old

Development, while not guaranteed, takes time

it was at best a questionable pick when we made the selection. hopefully, naw being picked so late and showing promise will make up for this miss.

they say he’s not very coachable either, apparently doesn’t have great self awareness about his opportunities or willing to listen to anyone. knows everything already type.
