I could easily see that happening

Especially to Chicago

yeah, i'm thinking that it is too... ATL for 8 and 10, etc...

If we make that trade at the time of the 4th pick...im going to be very disappointed in Griff. Draft Garland (or whoever ATL is targeting), wait until 8 and if you like the landscape of available prospects then make the trade. Why do it too early?

To someone for something.

I have no idea. I just think when there is this much smoke, and the Vegas odds are currently -250 for us trading the pick...

We are trading the pick.

I'll go on record and say something to the effect of 4/Solo for Sabonis/Holiday/18.

This pick is getting traded.
Myles Turner I'm good with.

RoCo - Eh, not mad

For 8 and 10 - Not happy at all

The OP is correct, we're not attracting top notch/all star level talent. #4 overall doesn't remotely guarantee us that, but IMO it is our best chance, and it'll be worth the risk of losing a RoCo or a 2nd pick from a potential ATL deal to use that best chance to get an All Star.

The draft is all about potential. Nothing is realized yet. You swing for the fences when you take a draft pick over a known commodity. I’ll trust the new brain trust to make the right decision. I like taking a shot on Garland, but get why taking Robert Covington and a draft pick is a good idea too.

Former #4 picks Tyreke Evans (over #7 Steph Curry), Wesley Johnson (over Boogie, PG13 & Hayward), Tristan Thompson (over Kawhi, Klay & Kemba), Dion Waiters (over Lillard, Draymond Green & K. Middleton), Cody Zeller (over Giannis), Aaron Gordon (over Jokic), Kristaps Porzingis, Dragan Bender, Josh Jackson and Jaren Jackson Jr. (over Trae Young).

Probably safe to say we’d take Robert Covington and a draft pick over most of those guys.

WE CAN'T DEVELOP 4 ROOKIES.

ENDS UP WITH 8 ROOKIES.

Agreed. But depends on the rest of the deal too. Future picks? Taking back salary? Another player tossed in?

Maybe this draft is deeper and better than people realize

But Trading down in the lottery is dumb

San Antonio Spurs
Big time free agents haven't chosen to gone there.

The core they built was done through the draft, which is essentially what the OP is suggesting we do.
