I feel like I believe good things happened last night rather than I'm trying to talk myself into thinking they're good as usual.

Even last year there was hope our moves worked out, this feels more certain, maybe because Daniels feels familiar so I know he'll fit. A Josh Hart bulldog defender and driver with Lonzo like passing? If his passing is legit he can weaponize Zion like Lonzo did and keep teams on their heels all night.

Is the league really fricked? I think they are.

Based on our playoff run W/O our generational talent guy playing, the league was already on notice. Daniels and Liddel also just fit as an immediate impact guys in positions we need but also have a high enough ceiling to potentially replace some of our aging guys down the line.

It’s not just rose colored glasses here. NBA experts are feeling the same way.

Yeah, we aren’t the only ones flapping over these picks.

Plus now it appears who drafted a DD who is actually good instead of a DiDi that we wished was going to be good.

It’s because you were in an abusive relationship with your Pelicans Fandom. This is what happens when you’re used to being treated like shite by an ex. Then when you meet a legitimate nice person, you question everything.

That or the NBA gods are playing a giant cosmic joke on us by building up as much hope as possible before inevitably pulling the proverbial rug out from under us to make the fall even greater.

It’s definitely one or the other

its the first time in forever that the team was drafting to make a good team better rather than needing the player to turn the team around.

If Zion is in the starting lineup opening day this will be the most I’ve ever cared about the start of professional basketball.

Getting Liddell at 41 was the absolute steal of the draft. Incredible he fell that far. He will get you 15/10 a night in the NBA. He may not be a "star", but he will be in the NBA for 10-15 years. Absolute Steal!

He would have a hard time getting that amount of run for us this year...

But I do think we are lacking at "traditional" backup PF. Sometimes you need guys that just perfectly fill that role, and he looks like he could do it.

I'm just so excited about having two super long elite wing defenders on the roster. When was the last time we had that? Never?

During the Phoenix series we spent so much time talking about if Herb should defend CP3 or Booker, and who would defend the other guy (until Jose came in at least), that's no issue anymore.

Main thing I’m seeing is that we definitely have ideas of what kind of body type we want a ton of and that it will help us be very flexible in a number of ways.

Having one Herb is nice. Having a whole Herb garden to choose from is excellent.

Just to piss some optimism on this thread, even if Zion/BI get hurt for periods of time, we should have depth to remain a playoff team.

If everyone is healthy and buys in, we could be top-4 in the West. Lots of Pelifans just don't realize what Zion will mean to our ending roster from last year.

I think you need to add CJ in w/ Zion and BI. Imo we can still be really good with 2/3 (as shown in our playoff run after we acquired CJ) but we could even manage stretches with 1/3 of the available bc guys like JV and Herb have shown they can step up when needed.

Hayes can also be a real asset in the regular season.

YOU GUYS WANT SOME IRRATIONAL OPTIMISM?

HAYES COMIN IN HOT THIS YEAR DEVELOPING WING SKILLS AND HIS UPPER BODY TO HANDLE RIM PROTECTION

Can he not lose his temper in a game and get tossed, costing us a potential needed win?

Remember last off season?

People were AMAZED at Jaxson’s playing during workouts.

This is the year he makes the leap sons.
