Responding to my trade-season column, Pelicans source emphatically refutes suggestion that they are open to moving any core players.

Pelicans have received inquiries from other teams, mainly about Tyreke Evans. But source says they're committed to keeping him.

Should note, in fact, that Pelicans are thrilled with Tyreke Evans' play this season. He's been their best player not named Anthony Davis.

Pelicans officials are confident in their core. Also have plenty of room to operate under the tax threshold, so no urgency to move anyone.

I have no problem with this. Unless you get an offer you can't refuse its too early to move core pieces.

Honest question. Is Gordon still part of the "core"?

He's playing much better compared to a few weeks ago.

I really hope not. Even if he is bought in and playing well with his injury history I wouldn't want him long term. Even if he comes back in a few weeks and plays the rest of the season, outside of his 78 game rookie year, he will not have played at least 65 games in any of his 6 other seasons. If he's willing to stay for cheap (less than the MLE), I'd think about it, but he's injured far too much for us to use any salary of consequence on him.

I agree with this. How much has Beck watched us? It seems like a lot of this statement is stat-gazing.

I really hope we can keep him around on the cheap.

He's based in New York, so he probably watched the few national games and the Knicks.

Nope. Jrue was hardly noticeable over the first 10 games. He's upped his level of play the last 4 games but he's hardly been the catalyst Tyreke has been throughout this season. If Jrue sustains this run, it will not take long for your statement to be true. This is oddly reminiscent of last year, Jrue starting off slow and then going off before his injury.

Actually, Broski has promised to pass to AD on occasion. Broski for the win.

Tyreke has been fire and ice, so you could argue it either way. I can't think of a single time Jrue has pissed away a game like Tyreke has.
