If those go as expected we get within 3 games of MEM with 25 to go and complete the sweep of POR.

Team and fans should feel confident again about making the postseason if that’s the case

The Pelicans also still play Memphis twice.

Memphis has a hard next month. They really should collapse and especially if we take care of business in our two games.

Why in the world would you think that? Tonight, they play the Lakers on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, and then they play the Clippers two days later.

They just lost to the friggin Kings. They have never given any indication that they are anything but an average team.

They’re still a good team and it wouldn’t surprise me. Obviously you think they drop both which would be huge.

It's not more so about them, it's the about other teams possibly laying an egg or having a off night. In sports anyone can have a off night. I wouldn't pencil in both of those losses yet. The Pelicans needs to handle their damn business though

No, they aren't. After tonight, they will be a .500 team while having played one of the league's easiest schedules so far. That isn't good -- that's average.

We've lost to the warriors. And we've beaten the clippers. One win or loss has no bearing on another game. Tho I think it's very all chance the grizz win one. I wouldn't be totally shocked if they do.

They're average, if that.

It's crazy how overrated Memphis is becoming. The reason we believe the Pels have a chance is because the schedule should let them win at a pace above 50 wins, not because we think the Pels are all of a sudden a 50+ win team. Likewise the Grizzlies schedule is about to hit an inflection point where they'll hit the Gauntlet the Pels have been running. They shouldn't stay above .500 during this stretch.

Between Memphis' schedule and Lillard's groin, the Pels just need to stay healthy and keep doing what they've been doing.

Huge difference losing to bad team in the first 3 months vs the final 3 months. Teams are starting to get serious about positioning. If you can’t beat teams that you should beat post all star break, then beating motivated teams during the stretch run would be even more difficult.

Nobody thinks they are better than an 8th seed. So it's basically saying people think they overrated when compared to the Blazers and Pels. They had a bad stretch that put them in a whole they dug out of and are in a position to get in the playoffs, i'm going to give them props for that. I dont think someone saying they could possibly hold on the 8th spot is overrating them.

The direct quote that spawned this part of the conversation was someone saying Memphis was a "good team"

To be fair the Pels have been on a 50+ win pace since ending their horrible 13 game losing streak. They are 17-10 since 12/18/19.

Not pertaining to this thread, but Lakers spent all week saying Cousins was going to be healthy and able to help them in the playoffs

They just cut him for Markieff Morris
