They aren't getting rid of Marcus Smart.
It's White and Nesmith more than likely. I doubt the Celtics care about being in the tax this year.
there it is.
a 5 for 1 trade, makes it close enough to matching.

pacers can take ayton's max now
Posted on 7/1/22 at 12:50 pm to cgrand
Is there some framework with Myles Turner going to the Nets along with that Boston pick, Ayton going to Pacers, and KD going to Nets for boatload of picks and other players?
Posted on 7/1/22 at 12:56 pm to Fun Bunch
Yeah, that should be feasible, if you meant KD to the Suns.
Posted on 7/1/22 at 12:59 pm to Fun Bunch
suns: ayton out, durant in
pacers: turner out, ayton in
nets: durant out, turner + ??? in
on the nets "in" you would think it would picks from both teams and on the suns "out" they'd need to send out salary for sure.
i like that though

I can see why the Pacers would want Ayton, but don’t see why the Nets would want turner but not Ayton.
What about-
suns: ayton out, 3 1sts plus swaps out, Bridges out, durant in and Turner in
pacers: turner out, highly protected 1st out, ayton in
nets: durant out, Bridges in, picks in

I’d take Isaac in a heartbeat for that package. Def worth rolling the dice on. I’d wonder if someone else like OKC or something wouldn’t put together a better package than that though if he’s truly available.
Dude has DPOY potential when he is healthy.

If it's true I'd have to guess they just don't believe he's worth a max. Turner could be a good enough fit with Simmons for a more reasonable cost.
I don't see how the Suns don't make this happen. It seems like the choices are lose Ayton for nothing because you don't want to match, or let him be a key piece in going all in to the small window you have with CP3.

no matter how complicated, they have to do it

Suns would definitely have to add a 4th first.
Pacers may need to add more than 1 first.
Suns would have to send out probably Craig and Saric too, to make the money work.

from the article i read recently about it, didn't seem surprising to think they would want to get rid of him.
and us giving them Jax i would think would be a nice swap for them.
quote:
Isaac signed his lucrative extension last offseason and was paid $17.4M in 2021-22. He hasn't played professional basketball in two seasons due to left ACL surgery, and because he didn't play at least 25 games last season, the remaining three years of his deal are partially or non-guaranteed. He's guaranteed $16M in 2022-23, $7.4M in 2023-24 and has no guarantee in 2024-25. The Magic will still take the full cap hit of $17.4M, but the incentive-laden deal gives Orlando an out if Isaac continues to miss significant playing time. It's unknown if Isaac's guarantees can go back up if he plays a certain number of games this season.
I think a healthy Isaac is exactly the 5 you want playing with Zion.

Make it a sign and trade and take back Gary Harris and you have a deal!
Posted on 7/1/22 at 1:55 pm to BallHawk
Gary Harris signed a 2/$26M to return to Orlando.
We wouldn't be able to take back $30M between the two.
He actually had a decent season last year with Orlando, shot 38% from 3 as opposed to the 34% he had shot the previous 3 years, and he's a good defender on small guards.

Harris was pretty coveted once upon a time
Posted on 7/1/22 at 2:11 pm to Pelefraan 1
Harris, Wright and several others guards with decent size were coveted until we drafted Daniels, then that all went out the window.
