There was no way Zion would match the hype. Still he was solid, should have 4-5 assists with good shooting.
Kid will be a beast, just will take a little time.
Real simple, SA shot well we did not.
Still a whole half.

I don’t think he can stay on him for long but I think he might bug him for a few minutes.

Which I think was intentional on Griff’s part. I’m betting he was not thrilled that ESpn flexed it.

Not unless he’s coming off the bench instead until they are comfortable playing him more.

He doesn’t need to start again until he can play at least 25 minutes

Maybe but really no reason to take Favors off of him.

He's made some tough shots.

Griff needs to stop trying to treat Zion like a little puppy and try to force the perfect situation for him to play. He wants to play. He wants to be competitive. The spotlight doesn’t effect him. Griff is over thinking this

I’d like someone to make the case for who it actually helps?

4 minutes isn’t enough for a brand new Zion to get comfortable, it throws our lineups out of whack, it disrupts the flow of the rotations, it forces our players to overthink.

I kept telling myself no way Gentry’s comments were accurate, a bunch of short bursts? This is the NBA, not a Taysom play, synergy and rhythm are so utterly important. Especially with this team.

Just am really disappointed in how Gentry decided to go with this.

Not really. I think Griffin knew that despite their best efforts he isn’t there yet conditioning wise and needs to play. And he wanted to shield him a little.

Gentry is an abysmal coach. None of this should shock you

It very obviously wasn’t Gentry’s choice.

And this is coming from me, who despises Al’s coaching more than anyone.

I’m assuming Nelson made this call.

I don’t give a shite if they said he’d play in short bursts today. A week ago they said he wouldn’t be on a minutes restriction.
It’s like they are immune to being honest.

so he’s basically doing what I just said lol. Doesn’t matter when he’s gonna play, he was always not gonna be 100% with his conditioning. Dude is the biggest hype machine since Lebron. You can’t shield him. Zion has been in the spotlight for a long time now and has had no issues with it.

They never said he'd play a full set of minutes. They said the opposite.

I'm not a fan of Uncle Al, but he's been better of late.

I would have fathered see Zion with 2nd unit and more action. But I agree, don't think he's in bball shape.
