Curious to hear from anyone really, but especially from people that have an ear open toward other teams besides the pels. Who they think might be the Pelicans dark horse trading partner?

Whether it was Denver sneaking in to get Allen Iverson, to more recently Kawhi to Toronto, or George to OKC, a dark horse team almost always seems to be lurking when a superstars name comes up in the trade market.

Clippers are the obvious choice but other teams thrown around include Portland, Toronto, and Brooklyn.

Who would the Clippers give us in return?

Love the idea being a slap in the face to the lakers.

Clippers have SGA, Shamet, Harrell, J Robinson, Miami pick

Problem is I think SGA is their best asset and he can't do anything off of the ball

Gallinari, SGA, Landry Shamet, the Heat’s 2020 unprotected first, etc.

i wouldn't consider Clippers dark horse since its los angeles.

I'd say Portland/Raptors/Nets are pretty decent dark horses.

I always go back to the clippers and I am still not convinced it wont be the best package.

I’d highly consider SGA, Gallinari, Harrell, multiple picks from them. Especially if they will take any salary.

I doubt they take salary if they plan on signing Kawhi and someone else.

That's true but I think realistically the team(s) that will be a legitimate dark horse will have to have a few characteristics:

- A confident, bordering on arrogant(or desperate) owner
- A confident, bordering on arrogant(or desperate) GM
- A stash of assets that fit our wants and can put them above the current known offerers and not just beat the current offers, but beat their potential counter offers.

People saying the Clippers makes a lot of sense.

Honestly Clippers are becoming my favorite potential trade partner. SGA, Shamet, Harrell, Gallinari, and the heat pick would be very nice. Make that trade, get rid of Solo, and then sign Niko and Patrick Beverly or Darren Collison.

SGA - Beverly or Collison
Jrue - Shamet
Gallinari - Williams
Niko - Wood
Zion - Harrell

3 big rotation of Zion, Niko, and Harrell, with Wood or Okafor getting the spare minutes.

We'd also need someone who can score at will. Preferably off the bench. And is on a great contract. And whose name rhymes with Schmoo Schilliams.

Tell me who you think the "light horses" are and I will tell you who the dark horse is.

And Toronto was the betting favorite for Kawhi for some time before the trade happened, so I need to know who YOU think the clear favorites are, because to me there is not one. I would say 6-7 teams are all about even

When you're playing him off of Jrue, you want him on ball. He's also very young and on the timeline.
