Was anybody else expecting more juicy details from that article? Usually when The Athletic puts the full screen graphic at the top of the article they mean business...

Doesn't seem like anything groundbreaking. Just sowing the seeds of discontent so he can demand stuff like every other star. If they win it'll all work out, if they don't it won't.

If you and I are not happy with how the franchise has been handled since we got Zion, you expect Zion and his Mom to be happy about it?

We could make the finals next season and I think we're still bracing for Z to force a trade

Is Devin Booker going to force a trade this offseason? No one is talking about that!

Agreed but the entitlement seems a little premature unless his team is playing chess and making sure Griff does the right things. If we’re being honest I think we can all say that there has been some underachieving on both sides. Hell last year, we were all hoping that Zion could stay in shape. Now we’re hoping that his defense can improve. Next year they’ll be a new one

its totally ridiculous based on the number of games he has played.

But that is the world we live in now. The SECOND we won the lottery the media was BEGGING Zion to stay in school or demand a trade.

What did we expect after 2 losing seasons? This will only get worse unless we start winning. A lot.

I wouldn’t mind trading him today personally. I root for the front of the Jersey. Team need better Leadership across the board. Starting with Griff

Yeah, you don't give up on that level of talent this early.

No matter what anyone says, he's not taking the QO. He will sign his max. And then we are truly on the clock.

In reality, we have about 3-4 more years before we MUST move him. But we need to be in the playoffs next year.

The Redick debacle could go down as being catastrophic. I think we are just starting to learn just how much he poisoned the well here. Shades of Kendrick Perkins/AD.

it also doesn't help that Griffin is such an idiot he didn't realize HE HAS A MAJOR PODCAST and will for the foreseeable future

I've started to believe this year that he may be the first to sign a QO and leave the money on the table for the short-term.

I don't think it's over 50% at this time, but I think it's a real possibility.

It reads like Zion and probably others were upset that SVG was "too hard" on them for, presumably, repeatedly needing to talk about stuff like being out of defensive position again and again and again. It's easier to see SVG's frustrations that simple stuff just didn't connect.

Now we apparently need to swing in the other direction and find someone to handle the players with kid gloves because they couldn't handle the mean guy who was upset at guys for not listening. That's probably less Pelicans specific and is generalized across the NBA. You've either got cred like Pops, churn through jobs like Thibs, or you have to be a "players coach."

It's unfortunate that it appears Zion's family appears to be demanding but it's unsurprising given the slow leak of Duke booster payments, specifically to dad.

Also it's funny how the JJ trade alternative narrative changed from "release" to "wanting to stay in New Orleans" if not traded. What BS.

ETA: would be interesting if Griffin has Woj drop some counter intelligence to fight back against some of the narratives
