jeez i didn't realize it was going up that much.
yet another reason to not have Kira's $5.7M on the roster if the 14th pick is going to be at $4.2M

Looking towards Toronto, I wonder if they would be looking to get off OPJ’s money with him not playing last year.

Instead of getting a 2nd for Willy, send Willy and Temple to Spurs (they eat Temples salary but keep him around as a vet leader for Vic), Kira to Toronto, Koloko and OPJ to Pels.

Saves Toronto around 5 million in space they need to re-sign FVV. We get a 40% 3 point shooter in OPJ if he returns to form along with Koloko.

You still have the option of bringing back JRich if you want, and keep #14 to use on another backup for Z.

CJ/Jose/Dyson
Herb/Rich/Naji
BI/Trey/OPJ
Zion/Trey/EJ (2 way)
JV/Nance/Koloko

I think we will probably start the year as a small tax team though and see how the season goes, if it’s a shitshow then they will make moves at the deadline to get under the tax.

I’ll be surprised if Naji is still here as well as billy

Naji isn’t terrible as a 10th-11th guy at his cost.

Naji Marshall is an okay player, but Coach Green is tempted to play him too much, like over Dyson and his development. Also, anyone else see Naji as a really immature goofball? Always bombing the player interviews after the games in a cringe way. Jose is hype-man enough for BI and the team, Naji's stuff seems like it will be a distraction next season. Let him get a chance with another team.

OPJ has looked done for a few years. Not sure he is worth going into tax for. Spurs also probably not willing to invest $5 million in Temple to sit bench.

Again, we absolutely have to add shooting this offseason. It's. non-negotiable. We can't go through another season getting outscored from the arc by 15-20-25 points or more most nights.

If that means we have to turn over the bottom of the roster to add 2 or 3 professional shooters to the bench, we should do it.

I don’t think our issue is we can’t shoot. It’s that we don’t shoot it enough. There’s absolutely no reason for Ingram to be only shooting 3.5/3pa per game. He should double that. You can add shooters all you want but if your offensive scheme doesn’t generate 3PAs then it doesn’t matter. Our 3P% was in the top 3rd of the league last year

No shot we go for him. Dude is a walking red flag. I don’t think Pelicans want to deal with that head case. Also he’s absolutely weak and if he can’t shoot the ball for you, he’s not going to do anything else for you. This is why he’s projected to the 2nd round. He think he’s the best player on the court and doesn’t play team ball. If you’re not a fan of Lavar ball and Zion’s family, you def won’t be a fan of Bates family.

At the end of the day your core rotational guys will have to hit open shots. I don't think we'll be a top 10 type of shooting team based on the make up of the key rotational players. We're going to need Herb, Jose, Nance, and Dyson to be competent shooters when they're left open because that will make the biggest impact or it'll be more of the same.

Bringing in more shooters will certainly help but at the end of the day, those guys will be fighting for scraps or situational minutes unless we have injuries.

It's good to have a solid 3-point % but you have to consider the volume of shots. I know the team is aware that it needs to take more threes, they've said so publicly several times. And yet they don't most nights.

It's because we don't have enough guys on the roster who are volume three point shooters. You point out Ingram isn't one. You could add Zion, Val and Herb. You could also add Dyson, Naji, Larry, and Jose.

It's a problem and we should not go into another season without at least two more roster spots devoted to guys who are volume 3 point shooters who convert @ 38-40% clip. Period. We can do it through the draft. We can do it through free agency or by trade. But we absolutely must do it.
