We only have 6 games left currently and the 2nd half schedule hasn't been released yet.

Apparently a few media types are talking about it. Windhorst said he is hearing from teams that they are bracing for the most brutal schedule in NBA history.

Funny you posted this - I went online to look at upcoming games and it only showed 3 games in March. I thought there was some glitch - totally forgot about this. I'm assuming its coming pretty soon.

And you should learn how to use the internet

Is this how this works?

Sarcasm for those incapable of recognizing it.

I really hope this is a troll alter, because the thread and points you were trying to make were pretty cringeworthy.....

If that is the case I honestly just want the Pels to start tanking.

The product this year has already been abysmal and stacked against the Pels given the unique problems we faced from it, for the league to decide to double down on the underlying conditions creating this piss poor product is just insane greed of the highest order.

I’d rather just focus exclusively on development, lose more games, and hopefully sneak into the area of the draft we can grab a superstar.

Not to mention it would really piss me off if the schedule leads to one of our guys pushing themselves past the limit and ending up with a major injury during a throwaway season. Or going through the brutality of this schedule only to go to the Olympics and go into next season at an extremely heightened risk for injury or massive burn out next season

When he got home from the grocery he found his husband with another man. The pelicans in a close game was just the last good memory he had and he never got to fully enjoy it. Let's cut him some slack.

We might actually end up having an advantage with the schedule because we've basically gotten all of our games in.

Windhorst is talking about those teams that missed weeks worth of games having to make up all the missed games in an already condensed season.

Some of those teams are probably going to end up having to play back to back to backs.

That's what I was thinking. We've lost only 1 game, right?

Plenty of teams would have to make up games and it would be tougher on them than us I'd assume.

We also had the tough part of our schedule earlier, so we could double up on the schedule being easier compared to the rest of the league...at least I hope.

I'm preparing for the inevitable "Pels have such an easy second half schedule" after having the 3rd toughest to start the season.

What has been done to our team that other teams haven’t had to face? You’re acting like every other team is having a normal season and the pelicans are the one team that’s having to deal with any adversity.

Outside of the terrible schedule that is much worse than what basic adding up your opponent's wins and losses tells you, it's all self-inflicted(lack of continuity, hiring our coach so late in the game, roster construction), but that doesn't make my point any less true.

This is not a season I see much value in pushing our players to their limit under this shite sandwich of a league schedule to chase a few additional wins.

Aside from our team specific issues like coaching. You keep harping on the schedule aspect being so detrimental to the pelicans like it’s not an issue for anyone else.

Harping? Not sure you are using the right word there. I've made one post aside from responding to your comments directed at me that asked a question.

Anyways...Tougher Schedule than most + lack of continuity + poor roster construction + late coaching hire = the pressures the league has forced onto this season have had a larger impact on the Pels than most and in a season that isn't particularly meaningful in terms of wins and losses given the place we are as a team(poor roster construction, young team that needs to develop, that could use another talent) I don't see the value in potentially pushing our players into a heightened risk of injury by chasing wins under these shitty circumstances.

Not sure what you are struggling with here pal?

so if we go on a run and we're in striking distance of the 8 seed, you'd be like "nah i'm good"?

Honestly, yeah, probably.

But I think to get to that point would likely mean we are in fact pushing our guys to win as hard as possible so at that point I’d probably just be enjoying the ride and hoping we don’t have any major injuries occur.
