Outside of CJ, Nance, and JV, all of the players mentioned haven’t even reached their prime yet that includes BI which is scary. Pels from last year will be better than they were last season, Zion not included.

I think that Graham has reached his prime.

Graham was not in the 10 pictured though I should include Nance as being in his prime.

I would say Graham had a really bad year and can play better than he did, because he has.

Liddell pretty much does what we want lance to do. Block shots and space the floor. Lance should obviously be more advanced as a player at this moment, but Lidell definitely has the potential to do those things better. On paper, this draft couldn’t be better.

we moving DD in front of Kira already?

agree about EJ, seems like a guy with a chip on his shoulder and a big heart...perfect fit.

also, taking a minute to express my appreciation for Nance...our older guys are VERY mature vets who will provide leadership to a team of kids. TALENTED kids

“All of these guys are past their prime.”

“Some of these guys never had a prime.”

“This guy is dead!”

Mature, does what is needed, can cover the 4 AND 5 positions.

I want to keep him long term if he will take a reasonable contract. Intention would to keep him as a key sub and spot starter.

Griff definitely has emphasized maturity and team 1st attitude in the way he has built the roster. The only outlier at the moment would be Hayes. Hopefully the other can get him to change his ways.

Unless Jax takes a quantum leap between now and the deadline, I see him getting shipped out.

I would say that Zion is going to enable Graham to play more efficiently.

But, overall, the point stands that, of the 16 on our current roster, only CJ, JV, Nance, Temple, and Graham have likely reached their apex as players. The other 11 guys are still likely to see growth in their game.

I would say extending nance is pretty much a done deal. There’s no downside on a two year deal with that guy.

and the more I think about it the less scared I am of a roster/salary crunch. The pels have now accumulated enough good cheap players and other assets that they can more easily get off graham/hayes if they have to, when they have to.

credit to griffin and Langdon for giving themselves options and plan Bs when something doesn’t work out.

What has Kira shown that puts him above any of the guards on the roster?

I’m not being pessimistic here. I love this roster. But anyone seriously thinking we can be “true” contenders in the West…

I really don’t think so. We will be good. Very good. 2nd round good.

Bunchie, we had like the most efficient offense once BI/CJ got settled. Now we add the most efficient scorer of 2021 to that team.

Also this is assuming no development from: Herb, Trey, and Jax plus the lack of: Nance, Daniels, and Kira. If we get development and Nance, Daniels, and Kira add to that end stretch, we're fricking scary for anyone except the elite of the elite.

Hard to say how good we are and can be until Zion is implemented into the rotation. Limiting our ceiling without knowing how good they can and will be is pretty pessimistic at this point in the offseason.

How deep are we?

I am very confident in saying this is the deepest team in New Orleans NBA History. It reminds me of some of those spurs teams in the early 2000s.

I mean, just before the draft, I put $100 on our winning the West at +2500, so I obviously think that we can contend.

I give Nance a pass since he was coming off an injury and had to adjust to a new team. Nance,EJ, and Trey is a nice trio, with length and athleticism coming off the bench.
