We’ll hang it up if we lose to the Grizz. Then we’ll celebrate the lottery pick and Gentry getting his arse kicked out the door!

At 538, they currently put our playoff chances at 29%.

13 turnovers from the starters tonight.

You aren't winning many games when your best players do that.

Memphis will be an underdog in every remaining game. They likely luck into one win.

Same thing with the Spurs. I see one or maybe two wins left for them.

Sacramento will be favored over only the Nets. They also likely have one or two wins left in that schedule.

Portland, though, could go 3-3 with their remaining games. They will beat the Nets, the Sixers are in the middle of an identity crisis, and they have a shot against the Nuggets and Mavs. I think that 2-4 is a real possibility, though.

And then you look at our schedule, and you see that we should be favored in every game. What's odd is that, coming into this tournament, I thought the Magic would be an easy win -- and now I think that could be the toughest game we have left.

If my guesses about the other teams are correct, then we likely need to go 5-1 in our remaining games to feel comfortable in getting the #9 slot (with a real chance at #8).

Meh.

Utah and OKC will be tough. I'd say we, at best, are a bit above 50% to beat them, not sure why anyone would think MEM is just an auto win for us.

Problem with the last 3 games, TOR and MIL have nothing to play for and BOS may not either. It's entirely possible at least 2 and maybe all 3 of those games have starters playing limited minutes or not at all.

Memphis could easily go 3-3.

And zero reason to have any confidence that we do go 5-1. None.

They play us twice, no reason to think we'll win both. LAL the final game of the season, nothing to play for. SAC likely gets 3 more wins IMO, certainly not "likely" to just win 1 or 2.

We're a lot better than them, and we beat them both times that we played them already. That's partly why 538 puts our chances at 76%.

We were.

But are we now?

We are not the same team we were when the season ended.

yeah... at best we go 4-2. Blazers will go 3-3 and if so they finish ahead of us on tiebreaker

You're overreacting to one bad game against the team that I think is the worst matchup in the league for us.

Speaking of matchups, Jrue is going to put Ja in a cage, and they are never going to get in any kind of offensive rhythm. For us, Zion and BI are going to go off.

Need the Pels to beat Grizzlies and 76ers to beat Spurs today and we’d be back within a game of the play-in spot with 5 games to go.

Grizz 32-36 -
Blazers 30-38 2 GB
Spurs 29-37 2 GB
Pels 29-38 2.5 GB
Kings 28-38 3 GB
Suns 28-39 3.5 GB

With a loss today though we drop to the bottom of the list. Game today is a must win. 538 game forecast has us as a 7.5 pt favorite and the 76ers as a 10.5 pt favorite over the Spurs.
