Jose can’t shoot. Not a good combo for an undersized guard

The talent gap on the floor tonight is pretty stark.

Can someone explain to me how these teams consistently go 40-50% from 3pt against us?

Mostly open shots.

Well 6ft guards ain't nothing but a blip to shooters and a liability on the offensive end if they can't shoot.

Someone needs to put Jose shirts on a recall list. It sucks he has to play so many minutes, it's not a good roll for him.

Hes not a very good player .. and he was smart to carve himself out a role as BI's best friend so now we'll probably keep giving him minutes

Trey Murphy was attacked constantly tonight and we lost because we got way too damn sloppy on defense.

We miss B.I. handling the ball. frick

You sure it's not Phoenix being wide open for 16 threes?

NM- thought you said "he" got sloppy

This is tough, but you can't win when the other team outshoots you from the field, from 3 and at the line.

We also were way too fricking careless with the ball. Unnecessary ally oops, too many passes in transition, bad passes in traffic, etc

He hasn't been good but we still win his minutes.

The entire bench is basically -25 or worse.

I don't know what happened to the defense but it has been awful as of late. We're a turnstile on defense.

We have 3 6ft guards playing big minutes. You can get away with having one small guard out there but with BI out we always have at least 2 small guards on the court and teams are abusing that. This was a night to give Snell some minutes to see if his shot was on. I have no idea why that 10 day guy has gotten so many minutes.

BI picked up a ton of slack Josh Hart was responsible for before he left, BI was playing some of the best D of his career since CJ got here. And the length and size of the starting unit, plus the scoring, was why we were running through teams.

We had 4 guys with 7ft+ wingspans and three of them could switch most positions.

Also, when they play a team that is capable of shooting the 3, they will get burned. During the win streak teams were also just missing a ton of wide open looks. Locked on pelicans pod touched on it a bit

Exactly. A reason I favored inserting Jaxson in the lineup was that we were undersized, particularly Graham starting and having Hart being the Pels defacto PF. When Hart and BI were both out, I think WG kind of fell into Jax as a starter and was surprised how well it worked. As you point out, it puts a switchable team on the court with 4 players having 7' wingspans.

The length has led to more deflections/steals allowing the team to get out in transition where they are at their best offensively. The Pels are not a very good individual defensive team, however adding Hayes to the lineup, although still not making them a defensive juggernaut, masks some of those issues.

Curious to see how WG manages this as BI, Nance, and Zion return. I hope the minutes don't come at the expense of Jaxson. The minutes need to come from the team going bigger.
