We aren't going into the season with only Nance and Missi.

Holmes could've contributed now,

A scouting report says he can. The history of NBA prospects, especially centers, taken at 20+ tells us that he could not significantly contribute right away. Not sure why Collins is being made out to be some dead nuts right away contributor. It's a weak draft, hell the #1 overall pick is projected by many to have a ceiling as a roll player, yet here we are trying to pretend the number 22 pick is a right away contributor. I don't buy it.

There’s a difference in taking a Jaxson Hayes profile at 1.8 and one at 1.21. It always hurts more bc we had 1.1 and 1.4 in the Zion draft and 1.4 turned into Hayes NAW and Didi Louzada. The foundation of a dynasty.

I'm not saying he's gonna play 20 mpg, but I'd feel comfortable with him as our 3rd center with FA center and Nance in front of him.

I think that is what’s going to happen.

So you'd feel comfortable with him being Cody Zeller? A 3rd center isn't going to do anything of value. Cody Zeller minutes is not a contributor. Give me the guy with higher upside. Especially in a weak draft where there isn't much upside to begin with.

This guy might end up being a bust, I don't know. But in theory, the fit is there. I've wanted for 5 years for Zion to have a rim runner to go along with. If this dude can find a way to be good enough to play with Zion in that role I will be thrilled.

I'd actually rather him play 20 min if it means Nance is gone and won't be labeled as a fricking Center on our roster anymore.

I'd rather (3) unknown centers and figure it the frick out before even bringing Nance back as a backup plan and continuing this.

I got DVed for saying I hope no centers were available by the time we got our pick because it may have forced us to make a beneficial move.

You realize this means he wouldn’t even play in most games, right??

They'll play when there's injuries, foul trouble, and during blowouts, which is alway bound to happen and a perfect plan for development.

The major issue is the Pels coaching staff lack player development skills. Other than Herb, i have not seen bb
skills improvements among picks. Yves' raw talent is a waste without a bbiq and bbskills. Even Z and TM3 heve major weaknesses.

You don't think Naji, Jose, or Trey have improved since we signed them?

He never said they didn't improve.

They are certainly far from polished players.

All (3) have a good bit of "get them out the game" moments. Whether its defensive reasons/ offensive reasons/ or just IQ positioning.

Jax Hayes 2.0

Wonderful
Hayes didn't work because he has no work ethic or will to get better.

Does Missi have that same issue?

Especially given how little value 1.21 had.

Hell, did everyone not see how awful the value was on pick 8 that was traded?

There's no one we could have drafted that today we'd have a realistic expectation that they'll contribute much of anything this season for the Pels, so I don't get why it's a huge issue if this dude won't contribute much.

There’s too many Centers available out there for me to believe we can’t get at least one. Not saying it’s my ideal option, but I think there’s a good chance we’ll go into the season with one of Capela/Paul Reed/Mitchell Robinson.

You can also use the NTMLE as a trade exception now, so that’s another $12.9m we might be able to play around with. Guys like Robert Williams and WCJ fit perfectly in that exception

this is what happens when the realization hits that your team is in nba purgatory and lack the trust in Griff to get out of it. Meanwhile it feels the owner is complacent with these results.

And absolutely no pick we could have made last night would have been able to change that. We could have had the #5 pick last night and I legit would not have been excited about it. There's no reason to melt over this pick. The thing that will determine whether we get out of purgatory or not will be what happens with BI, not this pick.
