K, just want to be clear here, we aren't ok with a league average 25 year old SF (with upside) for 12% of our cap?
If he develops into a league average player on both ends its a good contract.

I want to know what Solomon Hill has done that lets say Brandon Rush or Ian Clark hasn't - guys who will get far less
I love the hungry, prove it guys. I just liked them at a smaller number. I would have waited. I guarantee we can revisit this on July 11th and we can find 5 guys with a similar history and upside combination to Hill that get far less.

Just saying we could easily hate this signing in 2 years.
I don't think anyone is doubting this

I like Ian Clark what kind of contract do you think he gets

4/50 for a 4/2 player is a very Pels move. Grats, mates and mons.

We shall see. But it won't be anywhere near what Hill just got and their history and upside profiles are similar, no?

Well from the looks of it a guy that can't shoot from three actually shot league average at 35 percent. And he's almost an elite ft shooter.
And where those guys end up are going to be a huge factor in contracts as well.
For example Rush won't make nearly as much playing for the Cavs as he would the Kings.
My bad. He shot 32 percent last year.

I'm not sure what the NBA has done but this is crazy numbers with teams having to spend money.
There will be blow back in some form from the guys who are better but signed contracts just a couple of years ago, are light years better but getting paid less.

You want to find the NEXT 3-and-D stud that seemingly comes out of nowhere? Just look to the past. With that in mind, let’s take a look around the league for some guys who fit the profile:
quote:
Solomon Hill, Indiana Pacers Solomon Hill was a guy who improved every year in college, particularly his shooting, and also filled the stat sheet with rebounds, assists, and steals. He is also athletic and universally known as a hard worker, but after showing some flashes last November when he got a chance to start in Paul George’s absence, he has tailed off quite a bit and is now barely in Indiana’s rotation. His 3-point shooting has gone from bad to okay to awful, but many experts say that FT shooting is actually a better predictor of future 3-pt percentage for wings, and Hill is fantastic, hitting 83.2% of his 200+ career attempts.

Combo forwards (which neither Rush/Clark are) with some skill are the new 7 footers. They will get paid in 2016 NBA.
I like Hill much more as a small 4 than "true" SF.

That's why I keep bringing up his ft percent. If you can shoot a set shot you can learn to shoot a jumper.
Other bigs that posters bring up don't shoot that well from the line. I don't even have to look it up haha

I know it's your schtick and all but this isn't a Pels move at all. They usually pay/trade for young vets on a 2nd contract that have already hit what they are going to be.
This is a big gamble.

For frick's sake, we could have just kept Cunningham for that.
WE NEED A TRUE SF. I don't understand our obsession with overpaying tweener players. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Actually, I'll say this (paraphrasing a sage comment from a respected source in another entertainment industry), "Nobody knows anything".
Let's just see what happens.
